I have 4 (soon to be 5) PCCs i run with suppressors. trying to make them quieter and smoother in general. one of them in particular has a VERY loud buffer spring and figured i should try and make them all quieter. I see the JP silent capture and the Armaspec quiet buffer mentioned alot, wasnt sure if theres anything better out now. however some people say just to use a flatwire spring and it will be good and alot cheaper. because i have 6 of these, im trying not to spend too much but if something is significantly better than the rest, ill try it and buy them couple at a time also all of the PCCs are running milspec carbine springs n buffers because they are radial delayed. none of them have weights pinned in the carrier which seems to affect the JP setups. but i might experiment with a heavier H1/H2 buffer in a few to see about keeping the bolt closed a bit longer. have a mix of 9mm, 45 and 10mm PCCs |

ya i tried oiling the spring n inner of the tube and its still bad. i might go ahead and order a JP setup and try it. but i was watching a video of Forgotten Weapons shooting the MeanArms bearing delayed 9mm and he had a standard weight JP setup and said it wasn't enough. and swapped it with a heavy weight buffer. im hoping i wont have that issue also because thats alot of money i will say that after he swapped to a heavy buffer, you can hear his spring louder than his shots, thats exactly as bad as im hearing https://youtu.be/6mBc2mU75e4?si=0z7TvZheaRIcUaHQ&t=972 any recommendation for buffer weight on a 300 blackout with 8.5" barrel shooting subs only? flow through suppressor |

I have no experience with suppressors, but I do have a JP as well as an Armaspec Stealth Recoil Spring SRS . Both work as they say and eliminate that horrible noise. On the JP, I did end up replacing one of the original weights with a Tungsten weight, though I can't remember who I bought the tungsten weight from. It was made to fit JP SCS, but it wasn't JP, so I paid a lot less for it. Definitely a fan of these. The Armaspecs shouldn't give you issues as they seem well reviewed and are a good option if money's an issue. If not, go with the JP. |

I went ahread and ordered three of the Armaspec Stealths. ordered two of the H1 and one H2. will see how they run and order more later. seems alot of people recommended the JP H2 on most 300 blackout pistols on reddit, so hopefully the H2 will work and be better than its standard buffer found out my .45 PCC is suppose to use a H1 unsuppressed, so i probably should have used an H2 since its almost always suppressed. but its currently using standard also the JP is just too dang expensive. they dont offer an H1, and the H2 is almost 200$. and over 40$ for a tungsten weight is just kinda pricey. I thought about cheaping out and getting the Armaspec Sound Mitigation buffers. maybe on my other rifles i dont care as much about being quiet |

I don't know anything about PCC's but I ran an Armaspec carbine weight buffer in my 300 blk for a while and it was plenty quiet. The JP's seem a bit better built. Possibly a Geissele super 42 spring would work for you as well. I mainly shoot 5.56 now and use the super 42 springs only. When I tried regular springs they still had a bad feel and a twang after the round fires that was annoying. |

got the 3 Armaspec SRS buffers and they are going back. they are significantly stiffer to pull back the charging handle and i know they going to cause cycling issues. saw threads on redit with people with same issue and Armaspec recommending to cut coils off the spring. nope not dealing with that on 5 rifles, i dont have the time nor the range that would allow me to do that. going to send them back while they are still new not to mention that they still dont seem very quiet. it might eliminate the sproing noise but the spring but moving the spring o nthe spring guide still makes alot of noise, even when oiled. also yes the buffer tubes are not as smooth as i thought. when cycling with this kit it did still sound pretty bad. the first 1/3 of the buffer tubes are smooth but after that they are very inconsistent and groved. they will need to all get replaced. guess thats what i get for using a cheap lower build kit. so tubes will be getting replaced and going to a more normal spring/buffer setup |

For all the fancy buffer spring solutions out there, when it comes to just the spring noise, it's amazing how much difference the OD of the spring, the ID of the buffer, and the roughness of each can affect the noise. Put what you think is a nice quiet spring in a hair tighter and more roughly finished buffer tube, and suddenly it's loud as hell again. Yes, better designed spring systems reduce the noise. (My armaspec and maxim contained buffer systems are fairly quiet, spring wise.) But don't forge the tube you're usin' when you have springs that contact it. |

I followed the advice of @amphibian and use a Tubbs flat wire, 9mm kynshot buffer and A5 tube with a 16" 223. Don't hold me on this, but I believe the kynshot PN is RB5009. The carbine has much less recoil and noise than other spring/buffer setups I've tried. Im also using some lithium grease on the spring. assuming you have a std 9mm pistol setup, you won't need the longer A5 tube. downside of using the flat spring is it's a pita to remove from the tube because of the retaining pin. Suppose the pin could be removed to get around that but I like the ability to open the lower receiver if necessary to pull the BCG the range w/o having the spring/buffer pop out of the tube. ETA: RB5007 is the correct PN |

Thanks for the HD buffer pin option! Hadn't seen that before. Just found this device for holding a std buffer pin down: https://spring-it.net/ I'll try this first. One tool for all my guns vs getting a buffer pin for each gun and have to use a screwdriver or similar tool to rotate the thing anyway. |
