| How many of you have noticed that with Gen 2 P-Mags that the second round from the top can pop up at an angle under the top round and make it difficult to insert the mag under a closed bolt? Even when inserting on an open bolt, this can make it encounter resistance when the bolt shuts. I have never had it cause a malfunction, but still, it makes me doubt the reliability of the Gen-2s, and I have gone back to using GI mags. I have tried it in multiple rifles and it can occur in any of them, so the rifle isn't the issue. It can also occur with anything from 15 to 30 rounds loaded in the magazine. That second round just seems loose as it gets near the top. I don't have any Gen-3s. They might have fixed the issue; I don't know. Anybody else noticed this? |

Yes. I discovered this when I would pull a mag out of a pouch and not be able to seat it on a closed bolt. Mags riding upside down in a pouch or carrier and getting jostled around. Second round pops up and that keeps the first round from being able to move down and seat the mag. Never had an issue with them feeding the first round on an open bolt reload though. Never had that issue with an Okay USGI or Gen 3 PMag. And I no longer use Gen 2 for anything other than range use. |

Nope, never had a problem with any of mine. I have a bunch, and some of the training mags are gen2 Pmags, never an issue in multiple guns. Only gen3's I have are 40's & 20's. They're great except for that obnoxious overinsertion tab that has to be ground off so they don't snag in certain pouches. |

It can happen. I’ve had it happen on wore out gi mags backnin the day. It was huge issue with the early Gen M3s. I sent a bunch (over 100) back to Magpul because of it and they replaced them with the updated mags with the dimple in Oct 2016. It’s been a thing for so long it’s probably been forgotten about. |
