I mean the NX6, which their 2-12 I assume is their standard digillum and not their bright 1-8 NX8/ATACR diffractive illum. I could see how calling it RDB would be poorly worded and misreference the PLX line though since that’s what they call their diffractive illum though

Looking forward to reviews being re-posted on YT or new ones to decide. Locking turret on this one?

C_DOES posted his review! RDB lighting is far too bright for use. The high end is so bright it hurts the eyes and the low end is far too bright for NVG's. Still watching the video but he likes the scope overall. Mine arrives Monday and my concern is the illumination as well. The objective is so close to the turret, your scope mount may not fit. ![]() Primary Arms PLxC RDB 1.5-12x36 - THE CREAM RISES TO THE TOP! |

Not having a zero stop, or locking turret, in my opinion, is a big miss. Who buys a 12x and doesn't dial? And then not be able to easily dial back and hit the stop to confirm zero. Oh well, this was out of my price range anyhow. . |
I am not an operator nor am I very smart.

Who passively aims through a scope though? That’s what offset/top dots are for. |

They’re really low profile and I’ve never bumped them off zero, personally. |

Really want to like this as the footprint is very attractive, but the price point and the reticle both miss the mark for me. NF 2-12 incoming I suppose. I do like what PA is doing, I just hope we can get some better reticle offerings and the prices don't keep going up relative to competition. Surprised this one is coming in higher than NX6 or NX8 prices. |

They're an incredible bargain even if they're more expensive than PA's usual lineup. |

We're seeing if the OHC guys will be making a 44mm objective to fit in the future, because they currently don't have them available. Edit: They're still working on it but will be available soon. |

I was hoping to use this scope on a light weight western hunting type build, but locking turret or at a min a zero stop is mandatory for me after experience I have had with non-locking turrets in the field. Scope looks great otherwise. |

| Not sure why all the cheap chinese scopes can put a locking turret with zero lock on but the higher end stuff has yet to figure it out. For those that don't want to use the locks, they can just leave their turrets in the clicked "up" position. |

Well, I have not found a great lens cap solution yet so I went to Hammie, he printed some caps with retention. I had to go out of town with short notice so pics when I return. However, I can say these caps work perfectly, slapped them on as a quick test. https://hammy3dprints.com/ |

While the modern IG operators mostly talk about "passive aiming" in the context of shooting NODS through high-mounted red dots, that is absolutely not the exclusive application of passive aiming, and thinking it is says a lot about someone's depth of experience and knowledge on the subject. Dedicated or clip on NVDs offer passive aiming beyond the range limitations of NODS+red dot, and having a day scope with reticle brightness settings that don't overpower a clip on but still offer a contrasting reticle are absolutely useful. |

Originally Posted By WriterClarke: Interesting video from Brass Facts. Was never in my wheelhouse, cause I can't bother spending that much on an optic, but I have been curious. Either the scope is just for holds on the reticle, or you deal with a non locking, non zero stop dialable turret. From what I've read elsewhere, Leupold sued PA for their locking turret system and it's still ongoing (?). I suspect this is the real reason the glx line went away and their plx line has focused on lpvo offerings that don't need a dialable turret. Their soon to be released plx higher mag offerings only offer a capped or ez-stop turret which seems to require a much taller turret to implement which is why they didn't offer it on the 1.5-12x. Attached File But yeah their awesome locking turret options seem to be dead due to Leupold apparently owning the patent on locking turrets or at least the mechanism that PA was using. |

I suspect this is accurate on all counts. Leupold likes going after people that use auto-locking turrets like theirs, as in the GLX and 4-16 ATACR etc. I also feel that it’s a bit of an unfair to knock the PLXCs turrets as in the video. They suck because that’s clearly not the design intent of the optic. If they had a reticle more aligned with dialing like TMR or MIL-C then yes, it’d need good exposed/locking turrets. But this thing is clearly geared towards running capped and holding shots. If people want to dial they’d be better suited to something like the 2-12 NX6 or the like for this reason. It’s like saying this scope sucks because it’s a lot worse at hammering nails than a hammer. Probably. |

Full disclaimer I don’t have the 1.5-12 but I LOVE the glass on the 1-8. For me it’s as or more clear than the 1-8 ATACR I had. I’m a fan of ATACRs overall, and consider the 4-16 to be a benchmark by which other optics should be judged, but I have been terribly impressed with my 1-8 PLXC RDBs glass quality. |
