Here's an interesting little sling I piked up yesterday that mimics the good parts of the Viking and Vickers units. It's by Spec-Ops, and it's called the Patrol Sling.

Quick-adjust "tail" up at the muzzle end, along with QD buckle, and shock cord at the butt end. Main adjustment in the middle.

I like it because it doesn't have the extra length of strap many similar units have, and it's made of heavy-duty stuff. Oddly, I don't find it on their website, so maybe it's new (?)

yeah it is made from a blueforce gear sling and a couple little extra's I had floating around. I was pretty much copying the magpul design except the lock jaw snap they have attached to the d ring, I found them online but did not want to spend 12 bucks for one so I just used an old black lbe hook snap instead. works great with the asap plate!

where did you get the nice Snap Shackle's on that pink sling? like they use on the magpul slings?

If you're referring to mine, it is a Gear Sector GS-3P.  It is a prototype, but I think Jason will be starting (or may have already started) production.
You will be able to get one here when they are available.

Could anyone post a pic of a normal size TD foregrip mounted directly over B6, and a pmag in the well?

My Grip Pod is way to big, but i'm not sure if the TD is much smaller

thanks

Here's my standard TD VFG approximately at the 6th rail position and a PMAG

From what pics I've seen around here the Grip Pod is definately bigger than the standard TD VFG.

Here's how I rigged my ASPV Single-Point Rig mount sling on deployment. Wore a regular ASP Single-Point underneath the MTV for times when we dropped gear.

I wanted a side mounted sling for carrying and after looking at some rear mounts for my A2 stock I brainstormed...
before:

found a hook from an M1 web sling then decided to make it my rear mount by:

drilling holes at rear of stock

then secured the mount by drilling two holes into the hook (VERY tough steel BTW) after cutting the hook part off with a Dremel cut-off wheel then secured it with two allen head screws from an old Harris bipod

final product...reminds me of the old HK 91 copies we found in Iraq with the sling mounts at the rear side of the stock

I like it as it holds the rifle close to my body and doesn't have an extra length of nylon running along the rifle as in 3 point slings.
I think it is better than the hook and loop A2 stock adapters and best of all it was cheap.

A couple of people have asked about this with no response.  Claygrazer's original post implies it is a Vickers attachment, but there's nothing on the Vickers Tactical site currently like this nor at Blue Force.  Claygrazer isn't around any more.  Does anyone know who makes this attachment?

My ghetto 3 point/2 point using a 72" web sling.

The rear stock mount is simply 1" web looped around the stock twice and run through a slide lock on the other side. The sling is fed between the loops and slides freely. By pulling the slack out I can use it like a 2 point.

Boonie Packer 2P-TQA 1.5" sling with push button quick attach at the stock and HK hook at the front of the reciever.  Boonie Packer has some great quality and customer service with rock bottom prices.  $16.95 delivered for the 1.5" sling without the quick disconnect or HK hook.

Disreguard the lumps at the front hook and behind the slider loops, that's extra webbing I just rolled up and velcro wrapped in place.  Once I've played with the sling some more and am convinced I don't want to do any more adjustment I'll cut off the extra and heat seal the ends.

On the rifle.

Front attachment.

Slider for the quick adjustment section.

Double loops for the quick adjust section to run through.

Rear attachment showing how the 1.5" sling fits the 1.25" standard quick disconnect.

Wait. What connectors are those on the ends of the sling? They look like what's used on 1 end of the Magpul MS2. I don't see those available on the Gear Sector website. (albeit, there's no option for pink too, so I'm guessing something custom made, eh?)

Where can i get an HK hook like that and will the hook clip over the loop on the QD?

Think I threw a couple of them on a Brownell's order I was placing, but can't remember off the top of my head.  They didn't cost but a couple dollars each.  The HK hook will snap onto a QD swivel loop, but it's going to be a two handed operation since you'll have to hold the QD loop in place to do it.

A quick google search for "HK hook" should bring up a couple dozen places that sell them, but with something that small and cheap, I prefer to include it with other stuff I'm ordering.

Redid my stock attachment point with 550 cord.

And made a slight adjustment to the sling by moving the adjustment buckle in front of the slider. This way it won't rub against the receiver.
