My plan: 300 blk pistol build that I can fire suppressed, unsuppressed, in both semi-auto and manual operation. To that end, I have, with my limited experience (zero) in building ARs for myself, put together a preliminary draft of the parts I'm considering. Upper: Gibbz G4 LW, side-charging for easy manual operation. I figure not having a charging handle in the back will help slightly with gas in the face as well. Barrel: Ballistic Advantage 8" 1:7 Modern Series Gas Block: Seekins Precision Select, 0.750" Handguard: Griffin SR M-Lok 7.5" Muzzle Device: Griffin PSR Dual-Lok Flash Hider or Brake /w PSR 7 Lower: Battle Arms Workhorse Forged BCG: BCM? KAK K-Spec? BCM Mk2? Griffin Enhanced Gas Pocket? Help?! Gas Tube:Stainless? |

I want to be able to switch between suppressed, and unsuppressed, and semi and manual operation on the fly. Without needing tools, and without burning my fingers potentially. This is why I selected the Seekins gas block, which I will fit an extended throw lever to. I will need to mill a small channel in the handguard to allow for the throw-lever to poke through. But I don't think that will compromise the selected Griffin handguard's durability or rigidity to any significant extent. I have not found another adjustable gas block that can be fitted with an extended throw lever as easily as the Seekins. Unless there's one I haven't seen that has its adjustment coming off the side profile of the block that I can put an extension on, and have it come out the side, top, or bottom, of the handguard? As far as I can tell, 99% of the gas blocks have the adjustment mechanism facing front, except for Griffin's dial adjustable block. I could still use something like the Riflesped, or Strike adjustable blocks, but would still have to mill a channel to access the blocks with a wrench of some sort. And then figure out a way to store said wrench on the gun.... Optic to be determined later. |

Or just buy an OTS 300blk AR pistol or upper with 8" ish barrel and handguard you prefer. PSA has one I prefer with a lightweight quad rail. Then a couple different buffer springs along with H1 and H2 buffers. Then shoot suppressed and unsuppressed and start swapping until it all goes pew together, as it should. If that isn't acheivable then start shopping for adj gasblock. Also some charging handles have ridges to reduce the gas to face issue. Or get a 300 blk Kitty Kat (carry handle or flattop) and go Gucci on it. Don't ask me how I came to this information lol |
