Hard to say no when I see older Colts out in the wild. Something about that rollmark. Not sure this thing has been fired. Came with original box, but nothing else (not even a mag). Barrel dates to 3/95'. Not sure why they call these a lightweight, as they have a heavy profile barrel? I owned one of these a few years ago and let it go. Maybe I'll keep this one. Local shop for $950 OTD. I already had a bunch of mags, sling, and Colt reversible safety (I'm a lefty). Attached File Attached File I threw on this old hokey red/green dot. Nice catch! seeing something like that reminds me of the ads in the old Shotgun news the best of times in terms of prices and suprlus stuff as nato countries got with of their 7.62 stuff / ammo, and the worst of times having to deal with thumbhole stocks and neutered barrels etc. |

Nice rifle. I recently got a Colt 20" in 7.62x39 off the EE because I was missing/nostalgic for the one I had in the '90s... Shoots like a dream. Toss that sight. Just use the irons, I'm sure that gun runs like a champ! Also, forgot to mention, the new C-Products 762 mags run flawlessly, especially compared to the old USA frankenmags. If I'd have had those CP mags back then, I'd probably still have that gun. |

I've actually been kicking around threading the barrel or chopping it down to 12" and threading it. But it might ruin any value (if it has any). I put the upper on an extra lower with a car style stock. A local shop has a frakenbuild for sale with off brand lower and 20 Colt 7.62x39 upper. It would mate nicely with this A2 style lower. Might have to swap BCG's though. Attached File |
