If the OP wants to use his Sport 2 FSB and buy a new roll pin and midlength gas tube, that's definitely the deal. I would go for the .223 Wylde, 1:8, chrome lined for sure. Get John Thomas to install FSB straight if no tools or know how. |

The FSB on your Sport 2 HBAR wont work on pencil profile. |

If that's the case, that barrel would not be a simple swap. IMHO OP, if you're swapping barrels, I'd free float the barrel at the same time. Beside the additional cost, going free float and midlength gas is all up side. |

I have a Faxon Gunner on my lightweight build, not terribly impressed by the accuracy-maybe 2-2.5 MOA with higher quality ammo. It's a little disappointing but honestly it's sufficient for this rifle's purpose. The rifle I built for my wife has a BA Hanson profile, haven't shot it with any thing other than cheap range ammo so I can't comment much but it might be a little tighter shooting. I bought a Criterion chrome lined from AR15discounts when they were on sale awhile back, it was just under $300 I think. They have had them on sale again at least once since then. Will eventually replace the Faxon with it and hopefully see some improvement, but I'm going to get some miles out of it first. |

I have several of these and they are easily the best I have. Its available in several lengths. |

Green Mountain usually runs under $200 and is considerably better quality than BA/Faxon. They also have sporadic sales for half off. I haven’t used one but KAK has some smoking deals on chrome lined barrels. I can’t imagine them somehow being lower quality than BA, but who knows. |
