Evening All! By any chance does anyone have access to a Foam Cutting Template or accurate drawing/photo to cut the foam inserts for a Pelican 1700 case, and MK12 Mod 0/1 combination???? Ready done foam runs about 200-250 when available and I would like to avoid that cost and utilize foam already supplied by Pelican with the case. Any help greatly appreciated!! Thanks! Steve |

done alot of them you already have the template... lay gun on foam, trace around gun, remove gun from foam and turn on trim router... follow outline you traced earlier.... if ya want to get really fancy instead of cutting to a single depth use pam or similar spray to check depth contact and recess accordingly takes no time at all |

Interesting........Have used the trace and electric carving knife method below many times before, always worked out well. Never considered using a router. Will experiment with that on some scrap foam and see how that works out..........I am thinking the rotating bit might actually stick and tear up the foam but what do I know?? Worth a shot on some scraps...... Would still like a template if one is out there to duplicate the pattern as closely as Original G.I. This is more about historical accuracy than execution..... Thanks for the reply! Steve |
