| Anyone here have. PWS pistol in 5.56? I see they have a Diablo 7.5’inch and a 11 inch. Is t the 7.5 Too short?? How do you like the pws system? |

For ballistics reasons, yes. The velocity from a 7.5 isn't much more than you could expect from a 22 Magnum rifle. Also the muzzle blast and concussion are "impressive" But, if all you wanna do is bang steel in the daylight with a short gun, have at it. |

I've had a PWS SBR for a while. Started as a pistol. It's now my go to night vision gun. Runs excellent, no issues. 11" pre-optics and laser. Attached File |

I've had the Diablo years back. Rock solid reliable, but godawful loud. The concussion is no joke - the first round you touch off makes you pause for thought every time - it's not just "loud gun is loud" going on here. As for performance - even from a 7.75" barrel (which is what PWS uses) 5.56 is still kicking 22 Magnum, 5.7x28, and 4.6x30 to the curb. At worst you have the same velocity, with around double the bullet weight, but you're often beating the other calibers in weight and velocity. I recently built an 11.5" AR pistol, and I don't experience the concussion effect at all - I would definitely push for the 11 instead of the 7 from sheer comfort, plus the added benefits of far more effective range and load options. That said, the 7" is really handy in overall length. If you had a suppressor that could handle that short a barrel it would be a sweet setup - probably the same OAL as a 12.5" AR with only a flash hider. |
