I'm just a rookie at building and if you don't count the M16A1 I threw together from one of those parts kits that hit the market 4-6 months ago, this is my first actual ground up AR-15 build. It's taken a lot of patience over the last few months to find the parts I wanted and be quick to grab them when they would be in stock for a brief moment. My first 'Ghost Gun'. Also my first Poly AR lower. Haven't fired it yet, but everything passes the tests and seems to be functioning properly. Geissele Mutt masquerading as my Pandemic Defense Weapon built off the forums mostly. Got to love that matching Geissle shades of peanut butter.  This is truly a pandemic build being scrounged from multiple forums under the toughest conditions. I wastit y to score good qty. of ammo for it at not bad prices before it mooned recently to $3 a round.Wilson match 8” 1:8 Geissele gas block VG6 Gamma with Cage Radian Enhanced Bolt JP silent spring CMC 3.5lb trigger Radian Raptor and Talon Timbercreek mag release and trigger guard Geissele maritime bolt catch Geissele receiver group and Mk8 rail Tailhook mod 1     What is it? Pandemic defense weapon v1, urban core. Intended purpose: For use within a downtown dense urban core in defensive situations. Primarily 0-50 yards to 1 city block, if I can get around a corner then that's the primary defensive reaction at that distance for me. For SHTF home defense or offense within high rise apt, or office buildings. I live in a tall condo unit and need maneuverability and suppression. I think for my uses .300 s ballistics fit the roles without much drawback. Outside of current defensive ammo prices. Right now its 2 primary loads are Hornady 110gr GMX, Gorilla 115gr Lehigh controlled chaos. Restrictions: In my mind it isn't intended for offensive or stand-off use cases, for thatl use I have a 5.56 build for the 'field' as I'm thinking of it. Any feedback is welcome! |

First time poster here and a Canuck to boot. As some of you may know, our Federal Liberal government in Canada prohibited AR-15's on May 1st of this year. There are a number of legal challenges that have been initiated against this prohibition but in all likelihood, it will take a couple years at least to get through the courts. Therefore, I decided to build a non-AR (and we don't label it as a variant because the Feds would classify it as either restricted or prohibited here in Canada) and this was the result. This build came in at 5.6 lbs + \ 1.1lbs for the optics. Looking forward to anyone identifying why this is not an AR. :) Here are a few of the build parts, although some are manufactured in Canada so you may or may not be familiar with them: ATRS Modern Sporter upper/lower receivers Trigger Tech adaptable flat trigger Ergo Suregrip ATI Stock Strike Industries Charging Handle w/ extended latch 18.6" Faxton gov. profile barrel *** In Canada, our barrels on a semi need to be 18.6" or longer or the gun needs to be registered 15" MRA V1 MLOK handguard ATRS Flash Hider Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 LPVO  Cheers! |

I've built lowers but this was the first time I've ever assembled an upper from parts. It was surprisingly easy and went pretty smoothly. My goal was to build a light weight gun without going to crazy on price or parts that were too exotic. The gun with the red dot and the mount and the added QD M-Lok sling attachment point weighs in at 5lb 3.4oz so I am very pleased with it. Building them is addicting. :)  |

Got one of the 80% jigs you guys are going on about. I milled this one out to about 99.9999999%. The rear lug on the upper was a real tight fit. Pulled a bunch of spare parts out of drawers. PSA 10.5" nitride upper, premium/MP BCG LaRue trigger LaRue grip SBR brace

The weather finally turned nice here in Texas so I figured I should go ahead and grab a loadout pic.   And I just noticed that out of everything, I forgot to annotate that it's a 16" mid-length barrel from Peacegeek. So if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go be bothered by that forever now. |

  There are more good looking builds in here than corny, I figure this is the place to show off a build from last summer. It has those FN lines and the side charging upper is fully satisfying. That birdcage is long gone, swapped out for a 3-pronger that plays nice with my bayonet's ring. |

Just got done with my first build. Aero Precision upper, lower, barrel, hand guard, adjustable gas block and charging handle Rainier Arms BCG VCG barrel device Anderson lower parts kit and trigger I decided not to attach the Strike Industries grip. It looked kind of silly.
