The ones that I have, 2 or 3, are extremely rough on the inside. I am not certain that they are 7075 either, probably not at that price. Probably will use them on inexpensive truck gun

Somewhat related but any ideas on a good Cerakote color to match DDC or tanodized? I was thinking something like Burnt Bronze but am all ears.

That would be perfect. I just don't want traditional flat dark earth. Something more metallic in finish like tanodized.

The Eotech color he does (the color on the G mount I previously) posted could pass for tano in person... it was amazing

Lots of emails and IM's in the last week or so about Cerakote work...

I promise I'm not ignoring you guys, and you'll all be in the cue when the shop is operational again. Stand by for replies.

I've been working overtime since March--nonstop. The shop is being rebuilt as I have time, and I'm getting very close to being able to accept work again.

Your patience is much appreciated.

That color I'm calling "Dusk", and it's a nice reddish copper in some lights, a grayish bronze in others, and a golden, warm bronze in yet others.

Very nice, adaptive color. I coated my 13.7 Noveske in it.

So many new sites anymore offering killer deals on hard to find stuff just makes me leery of parts being chinesium.
A few guys at work have all in on buying stuff on GunBroker and when they bring it in to show off, we look at the manufacturer web page and can see subtle differences. Especially Magpul stuff. Seems like they are the most copied. Them and Gieselle mounts.

Maybe subscribing to these is your best bet:

https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/ar-15-super-duty-stripped-receiver-sets-5-56mm-prod136320.aspx

https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/ar-15-super-duty-stripped-lower-receivers-5-56mm-prod136319.aspx

https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/ar-15-super-duty-upper-receivers-5-56mm-prod136318.aspx

Geissele no longer has them on their website. They stated in their industry forum that they aren't going to make any for now at least.

Anyone have any suggestions for a tanodized dust cover? Strike Industries had a billet FDE ano’d one, but it’s Strike Industries...

Not a huge fan of the FCD EPC because the color is so light tan, almost gold.

Could use some help here. Not opposed to a cerakote version if need be.

Says it's 7075. If so, it seems squared-away.

ETA: Seems like there's a discrepancy between the manufacturer's website and the vendor on what it's made out of.

Yup, original Mfg states 6061-T6. But I ordered 2 of the fluted in ODG Anno from Hunter Select none the less. They were in stock, and scheduled for delivery tomorrow. From the pics on JE Machines site, they're a dead nuts copy of my PWS fluted tube. Carrier feed lip and all..

I can live with 6061-T6 if they're done correctly. We shall see..
