I have time to modify a trigger now at night after work. My work schedule does not permit firing for a couple of months, but I can play in my workshop at night. |

| For those that have the 2 position. My friend that sold me his AZR had it only come with the device. I decided to look on the site to see if there was any updates seeing people post about m2/m1/a1 etc And noticed the listing stating X1 AZR and X1 disconnector with the marking. This didn't have a disconnector in the bag, wondering if I should have or not. Tried calling but no one picked up. |

Nothing special needed as long as it's mil spec sized. |

I gave up on the AZR-15A1. I put a different action tube on, and a new buffer to replace the one that got beat up during the last test session, and FRT refused to work at all. I put the ALG trigger back in, and I'll decide if i want to try another type of FRT in a month or so,, likely a Partisan, if I do. Jay |

Jay I can probably help you, but you need to be specific about what happened, what you did, in order. Did you put it in FRT mode, fire one round, and then had a dead trigger, with the hammer down on a live round? If so, what is your buffer? It should be an H2 or H3, meaning it has 2 or 3 sliding tungsten weights inside it. |

Maybe the posts of the fitment problems are starting to sway people. I remember when I got mine in, a bunch of people wanted it after shooting mine. But now they are thinking partisan or something drop in that doesn't require fitting. |

I realized it didn't come with a disconnector, so I decided to reach out. Guy said he needs the order number. I said ok, asked my friend for the email from his order, and took a screen shot b/c obviously I cannot use his email. The screen shot included EVERYTHING from the email, he said that it's a screen shot and he asked for the original email and denied sending me out the part (after saying give him order number/email and he will send it right out). I told him if this isn't sufficient, forget about it, I'm not playing these games. So he told me go buy a CMMG disconnector. |

I've had 4 separate transactions with him and all went well. I like to tinker and have spare parts, so I haven't needed to ask him for anything. I've gotten a couple other AZRs on the EE, and the only one that gives me problems is one that I converted to 3 position. If I wanted to get yelled at for screwing it up I'd call him. I'll figure it out, lots of good info on here to tap into. |

Agreed. i have several of j.d.`s units as well as others. tried these all in 15 different rifles of differing bbl lengths. i have only had resistance in 2 of these rifles and just a bit of "tinkering" i got these problems fixed. only had to call the man twice for a 9mm issue and he was very receptive and his input solved my issue. for me, i have not had any problems with the man. ( maybe just lucky i guess ) |

AZR-15A1 - Sample size of one. Installed in a LMT Defender lower with Springco white H3 Buffer as well as swapped Geissele Super 42 H3 and H2 buffers for testing. The trigger was standard milspec feel with no creep in semi and FRT. No issues with several uppers out of the box. Ran with zero issues. Colt / BCM / AERO. Barrel lengths of 10.5 14.5 16 carbine gas and 14.5 mid-length gas. No issues. I have 2 H&R uppers, C7 Carry handle and A1 Carry handle. Both wouldn't fit the upper part of the FRT without needing to be fit a bit in the upper pocket. Dry fire testing not good when tried as well, so I didn't even give them a try on the range. The only thing that disappointing failure was a new EOTECH EXPS2-0 that is 4 months old with just one range session. |

I believe I own 5 of their uppers, and it's too small in 3 of them... I think. It's been some months since I played with them. |
| Another AZR-15A1 three-position sample size of one. S&W lower, Colt upper. Passes function check, to include tap test, no problem. But it's in "full semi" in both fire and third position. I have read through the thread 3 times, trying all the various fixes. On the positive side its a great frt 2 position, not so much three. I'm ready to throw it in the parts box and pick up another arc fire. |

No drag at all during the tap check; tried a different disconnect spring. Saw a slight mark on the hammer and ground it down to be sure it wasn't hitting the unit. I read about someone shortening the leg to get rid of binding or drag. That's when I did the tap check with no disconnector spring, no drag or binding noted. So much for plug and play with the S&W lower. |

So much for plug and play with the S&W lower. Darn. I suppose your next option is to try installing it in a different gun. I'm disappointed in the number of problems I see people reporting in this thread. I own... um. A certain number of these. And they've all worked perfectly. The only thing I've ever had to do is grind on one to get it to fit in H&R sized auto sear pockets. Hopefully it's only the case that the few unfortunate ones are the guys reporting their problems, and everyone else is happily getting on with their FRTing. |

Picked this up to go in a high-shelf SBR lower because the ARC Fire needs the low shelf. I did try it in a DPMS lower, but it hung up cycling the bolt for some reason, and I didn't mess with it further. |

I’ve got more than x and less than x+2 of these including x number that I converted from 2 pos to 3 pos. I had one flat bow trigger that I modified to work with the azreg that went frt plus in semi. I simply pulled the trigger a removed a bit more material from the bottom to match his profile. It is possible the receiver depth is more shallow and the trigger shoe needs a bit of manipulation. All X of these things go bang and brrrt when requested by the operator. |

It's possible, but wouldn't it fail the tap test if the trigger were binding? I do agree that the disconnector is disabled, somehow allowing brrrt in semi. |

If it looks to be less than a 1/16th. again in semi, trigger pinned to the rear, does the hammer release from the disco if you wiggle or pull on the hammer? You already tired another disco spring and know it is installed correctly. If it's not outright lack of disco/hammer sear engagement the only other thing that comes to mind is the relief cut in either the disco or leg of the AZR is insufficient for whatever reason and the disco is being held out of play by the leg of the AZR. It does pass hand function in semi correct? I would think, if the AZR leg was rubbing on the disco and holding it out of play it would fail hand function but maybe not... |

It looks to be at least 1/16 overlap. There is a nice shiny spot on the hammer sear, at least 1/16. The leg seems to have plenty of side clearance at the cutout for the sear. The leg is almost touching the trigger bar, but no binding. And yes, it does pass the hand function check, no problem in semi and position 3 |

There is too much tinkering necessary to make multiple FRT work well. Sure many of them work OK, but look at the number of posts about fixing timing and tolerance issues. This is just an evolving product. We have gone from blasting ammo for giggles to wanting match grade triggers that do FRT mode. Some of the manufacturers are responding. Now we just have to wait for product maturation. I think that might be why triggers are moving more slowly (if they really are). I'm waiting. |

| I did discover one interesting thing about the 2pos AZ unit. The upper receiver itself made a difference. On one upper, it worked just fine, on another upper it would not work. Both uppers were BCM and lower was the same used for each. Simply swapping the upper receiver itself made the FRT function. |

The thing that I want is the man as a patriot not out there suing everybody else. He has his own design, which works incredibly well. If you can get past the man’s website and realize this isn’t somebody who you became friends with that you’ll be hanging out the product is worth it. I have several thousand rounds through a 9mm set up which beats the hell out of components. It’s an early 2 position that I love the fact that I can bump one receiver pin and my rifle is unmodified from FRT. FYI the store perfectly in a grip with some sponge wrapped around them. All I’m saying is a lot of people are missing out because they don’t like someone that they’re never gonna be around |

The module fits the pocket well, but it will fall out, so it's not snug. But it doesn't seem to have any play in the pocket. It's a Colt upper. I did try it in a different lower, but it's somehow out of spec, so the bolt wouldn't cycle with the unit installed. Looking at the trigger parts again today, I noticed a shiny spot on the rear of the disconnector that corresponds with the tail of the hammer. It's actually making a divot on the disconnector. Could this be an issue? I'm tempted to cut off some of the hammer tail and see what happens. |

Trimming the hammer can never hurt. That's an issue I haven't encountered, interesting. |

I’m new to all of this. I want an 3 position frt to drop into a usgi close with zero exterior clues. I think AZR is what I want, but damn if this guy doesn’t have the worst website. Tried to read as much as I could here, can someone help me? - is the A1 the only 3 position offering? This one seems to come complete with trigger & selector. - if I drop the frt unit into another usgi lower, will it work? Will it be 2 position or 3? |
