colt a1 parts kit the kits that came in last year barrel is parked and gas block installed correctly

5-6 hundred down the barrel

not sure on how to price them any help would be appreciated

i am getting out of the retro stuff.

Your XM177E2 clone upper should bring around $500.
Your A1 clone rifle should bring around $700-$750.

Rough estimates. Pics would greatly help an accurate evaluation of price.

This is more of a retro AR forum. But, since I know a bit about BHP's, does the slide have tangent sights or fixed? Does it have a ring hammer or spur? Internal extractor would make it pre-'62.
Again pics would greatly help with an accurate evaluation. Depending on the sights, might get $125-$175. The refinish really kills any collector value.

Funding projects.

Have a used, good condition (no gauges) FNMI barrel A1 pencil barrel surplus to my needs.

What's a fair asking price?

I've got the C MP CHROME BORE on the XM16E1 and I have a XM177E2 style barrel soon to be here and still have that in the white kit barrel that will eventually get 605'ed.

I've decided (for now) that I don't really NEED a M16A1 so this has got to go! (Before I talk myself out of not needing an M16A1!)

Thanks in advance!

for it as is complete i would say $325-$375

parted out
$100-$125 - a1 upper (PM marked, has large button forward assist but has late ejection port cover)
$125-$135 - colt bcg
$150 - barrel, not usgi (heavy under handguards)

Here's a quick description I got from the seller, he also mentioned it is in excellent condition.

"Barrel erosion gauge in wooden box, with FP protrusion gauge and go/no go headspace gauge.
The gauge (with aluminum USGI hang tag) is in a USGI marked oak box with brass hardware (code on the end of the box, top of box is marked Barrel Erosion Gauge XM16E1 M16A1)."

Might have a pic or two later today. Thanks!

ETA: Here a a couple pics of the gauge box and hang tag. Didn't get any more than this from the seller, but hopefully this shed some light on value. He assures me that the gauges are in excellent lightly used condition. Thanks for any insight!

Saw one of these at a gunshow in FL two weeks ago.  Seller had no idea what it was worth, nor did I.  He tossed $250 out as "would let go of it for" price.  I passed.

Good call on passing. Through some research I've learned that they generally sell from $35-$75.

While looking for my bag of spares, I found 3 Modified Light Flathead firing pins ( used in 601/602 models). do they have any value beyond a normal, used M16 firing pin?

These are the pics from my earlier post about a 601 upper. Lower marked Colt Armalite AR-15 Ser.# 0058xx
barrel stamped with a P in a V between the FSB and with a C on the extension I tried to get pics but dont think they show up too well.
I do the original BCG and CH along with the green painted fiberglass handguard and stock with buffer and spring but NO buffer tube
I also have the original sling and I'm sure I even have a Colt Bipod with case.
I'm going to be selling all this but I need to know the value of these.

just some observations.

the barrel is 1/12, one of the later 601 barrels.
the gas tube is a replacement, it's not an early bend gas tube
on the bolt carrier group, is the firing pin retaining pin a one piece chrome unit?  is the firing pin the large head firing pin?

The firing pin IS the big head firing pin. Also the upper does have a P in a Triangle and a C in a square only other mark on the barrel is on the extension and is a C.
Also the Duckbill FH is NOT there there is some kind of FH on there that I have not seen before. I'll do alittle more research and find out what it is. OR I can just install an A2 on it.

Crap!
Well I'd value the entire thing about $1500 if you sell it all together.
If you part it out you will get more.
Maybe $2000+.
List it on GunBroker and see what the market will pay.
Don't worry about the opening bid, it will get bidded up quite high if you have 601 and retro in the description.

I have the chance to buy a factory 11.5" upper.
It's an A1 upper with an A1 flash hider and all of the appropriate Colt markings on the carrier, bolt, barrel, and upper.
The upper is in great condition. I don't think it has ever been fired.
Let's just say it's new with no box.
I've been told to make an offer, but I don't have a clue of where to start.
I don't have to have Colt, this just fell into my lap and if I can get it for a reasonable price, that would be great.
Sorry, I don't have any pictures.

So, what would you pay for it?

Thanks for any advice.

when you say A1 upper, does it have the forward assist and brass deflector?  if so, it's a little newer.  any complete colt upper in that condition is worth at least $600 and upwards of $800 unless it's something really special.

It sounds like a 733 upper. FWIW I recently bought a 6933 upper with a Colt carry handle for $400 shipped. A lot depends on the condition of the thing. I have to disagree with boywonder and say that's too much. Got any pics? It's hard to evaluate something without see it. a NIW Colt upper is worth more than the one I have which is in good shape but bounced around in the trunk of a cop car for awhile.

It has a shell deflector and a forward assist.  I think it might even be a round forward assist.

Any guesses what a lightly used barrel stamped "MP" between the front sight base legs on the right side is worth? Bore is excellent, everything looks good. As I recall these were pretty collectable...

complete w/ bcg?  i see 6920s parted out all the time with the uppers alone selling in the $700-$800 range.  on sturm, i rarely see any colt uppers for under $500 even w/o bcgs.

it's a pretty early barrel.  the one right after the M VP 12, i think around '67.  i would say $275-$325 is fair depending on condition.  gunbroker could get nutty and it could fetch $500 there.  been a lot of crazy prices there on retro stuff lately

It is a actually part of a complete upper, debating whether to sell separate or as a single part.  The upper is a very nice M16A1 with stonrg square and triangle proofs on it.

[ETA]  Thanks for the feedback!  Been debating selling it to fund an XM177 build.

if it's on a square forge upper, keep it intact.  it's got a lot stronger appeal as a complete upper vs a put together one even if it was an arsenal refurb unit.  does it have the recess under the port door?  rectangular ejection port cover pad?  early bend gas tube?  stainless or carbon steel?

Yes, recess machined just in front and below port door, early bend gas tube, small rectangle pad port door, square forging (from what I can tell), nearly perfect lighter gray finish, roll pin holding in the front sling swivel, and non drain hole shiny black handguards wtih one tooth missing.  No forge seam on the FSB either.

Only wear is a small nick on the left side from its rack mate on the receiver, and a little finish wear on top of the FSB ears.

How much is this Colt AR-15 A2 Sporter Match HBAR worth?

It is in new condition, unfired, with original mags, sling, cleaning rod, books in original wraping. I am purchasing it and would like an estimate. It is going to be my first semi-automatic rifle, and I am not too knowledgeable about them and would really like a quote.

Thank you for your time.

Hopefully I posted this in the right thread... Sorry guys I am a newb in this forum and it confused me a little obviously...

Serial MH086020 and Below would make it a preban.  If it's a preban, they are a hard sell as it's not a very popular configuration.  I had a hard time selling mine with the box for $1100 shipped.  If it's a postban, figure even less.  Maybe $900 or so.

Guy I bought a FAL from has two AR's,one the Colt upper on a Sendra lower, the other a Bushmaster M4 style upper on a Essential Arms lower.

Both lowers are pre ban for those states where such laws are in effect.

Colt upper.

Barrel markings.

Complete rifle.

Second AR,more concerned about the lower really.

the barrelled upper should bring $350-$375.  BCG if it's M16 and Colt marked, $125 or so.

Looking for value of an early black cotton SP1 sling. It is in excellent/like new condition. It has the folded stitched end like the 601 slings and is 3"-4" longer than any of my other OD cotton or nylon M1 slings. I'll get pics up in a minute. Thanks!

Hi all.
I am in Italy and I found someone who is going to sell this Colt Sporter Target 223" serial ST0263––
I phoned to Colt Customer Service and they told me the rifle came out of factory in 1992-1993 so that it should be a pre-ban.
Can you please look at the pictures and confirm me if it is worth or not to buy it ?
I know price in USA would much cheaper than in Italy, but any idea please ?
Why the rifle has no bayonet lock under the delta ?
Is the upper receiver matched with its original lower receiver ?

Thank you.

Here are some pixs

that rifle will get $1000-$1100 in the US.  the upper does appear original as it's a large hole lower and those uppers have the large hole to match.

In Italy it is more expensive since it is a bit rare here.
It is about 1,700 Euro ( $ 2,100)

Thank you boywonder777.

yeah it's hard to value things when you're in a different country with different laws and a different market.  some people are able to get full auto machine guns legally in other countries for a lot cheaper than we can here.  a colt machine gun is $15,000 and up now with the recent increases in machine gun prices.

that's more a retro style upper since it's all modern parts.  if everything is brand new or like new, i'd figure $400-$425 considering that's a little less than you could get new.
