I have a factory 2016 Colt 6944 with a Ratworx pinned and welded flash hider , it has approximately 100 rounds fired with little to no finish wear. The lower is M4 carbine marked with LE prefix. C stamped BC, particle tested bolt. It has the OG serialized 6944 marked box , paperwork and unopened bag of accessories. I haven’t saw one of these for sale for a few years and was just wondering what they’re going for these days. 6944 pics |

Okay guys recently had the chance to purchase some old Colt stuff from a long time collector. unfortunately it was second hand and there is not a lot of background info on some of the stuff. I never have been into OG colt stuff so looking to pass these on to people who value them more than me. I got a whole box of old mags, mostly all Adventure Line LNIB and some in the plastic still. I am looking at buying this from a friend. I need to know a fair price. Here is what I think it is. I think it was a complete Colt parts kit where the lower was destroyed. But everything looks really nice and the finish seems really good with the exception of the ejection port cover. The BCG is marked colt and not milled If I get it I would replace the lower and ejection port cover. So tell me what this is…not my pics. **Nevermind, people here have helped me determine it is Colt Can anyone tell me if this upper (not full assembly, ignore the lower, the delta ring, flash hider, etc) and barrel are actually Colt? Almost 20 years ago when I bought the parts I was told by the seller they thought the upper was off a Colt SP1 and the barrel was a used M16A1 barrel but they weren't sure. If the barrel and the upper are Colt, how much would it be worth approximately?

They came in a red box. They were produced in about the 1963-64-65 timeframe and are desirable. Prices for them used to be fairly steady, however the last few years prices have been all over the place. |

Unfortunately I don't have the owner's permission to post pics. Original Colt 606 heavy barrel marked C MP Chrome Bore . Barrel has a VCI protective tube down it (don't know if it means the barrel is NOS or a former owner put it in). Barrel has a M14 (M2) bipod attached with correct mounting block. Now the oddity, the hand guard is an XM148 HG. I know without it in hand there is no way to give an accurate price value, but what would you guys think a fair price "range" would be??? TIA |

I'm planning to list this project rifle, and I wanted to get an updated appraisal since it's been a while and now I'm seeing BRN-PROTO rifles listed on GB for $2400-2700 and just a BRN-PROTO upper for $1200. I don't want to list it for an insane price, but a lot of the components are impossible to obtain now. Even though it still needs barrel work, I've put a lot of effort into it - especially with the engraving and trying to specifically copy SN 000011. AR15 prototype project rifle. It is a replica of #11, the one with the "1" rack number painted on the magwell. Pics of original at Springfield Armory Museum Prototype #11. Based on a NODAK upper/lower - more accurate Prototype rifle than the discontinued BRN-PROTO. All of the difficult or impossible to find parts are included. The buttstock is a Brownells that has been foam filled and reprofiled. The sling swivel has been removed and filled. The buttplate has the Armalite logo. The buttstock has been painted and hydro-dipped with a fiber weave pattern. The grip is a Colt grip that has been dyed and painted. The sling swivel relocation was done by JT. The lower has a blem in the finish (you can see a stripe in the anodizing on the left magwell above the mag catch). I have lightened and worn in the finish to reduce its visibility, this clone is supposed to look worn anyway. The upper is slightly darker than the lower (can be worn to match, a wash of citrus degeaser lightens these receivers to the color of the lower). I did the engraving of the retro markings, the actual manufacturer markings are on the front of the magwell. The selector has been welded up and recut by JT to match the Prototype selector markings (SAFE is in the center on the prototypes). The mag catch was shortened by JT to fit the Prototype lower. The trigger is M16 from Indiana Army Surplus. The hammer and disconnector came out of my parts bin, not sure where I originally got them. The engraving has been paint filled (needs a little cleanup, but the original looks like the white paint is smudged a little around the filled engraving) and the rack number "1" is painted on the right magwell. The upper has a repro 601 door and a repro Prototype sight wheel. The barrel is a Green Mountain 1-14. It has a gas tube, barrel nut, and handguard endcap. The FSB is from Braceman (no sight post installed). The barrel collar is from either Braceman or JT (don't remember exactly). The flash hider is from Braceman. Nodak handguards (they have had paint and dip tested on them, but will need to be refinished anyway). Will also include heat shields that were not available until Brownells copied the handguards. Brownells Prototype 25rd magazine shortened to correct length and over-insertion hump crushed flat to allow for use in Nodak lower. Slickside chrome bolt carrier (I think it's a Colt), no bolt. Remaining work (recommend JT for barrel work): - One piece handguard treatment. - Pin the FSB and parkerize. Weld barrel collar to FSB. - Install front sling swivel and front sight post (not included). - Bondo the incorrect holes and drill additional holes to match the original. - Paint and hydro-dip handguard. I am also happy to be available for contact for advice on how I completed my other Prototype clone in order to get this one completed as accurately as possible. |

Looking for value of a Colt Sporter Lightweight complete upper that was purchased many years ago. I bought second hand in very good condition with less than 100 rounds put through it. I unfortunately don't know how accurate that round count is though. BCG is C stamped and mp on bolt. Charging handle is not marked at all. This is a large pin and has M4 feed ramps.
