The ARF Review team had one a while back. I don't remember if they got to keep it or if they had to send it back. @Sc00t3r may be able to answer some questions as he got to spend some time with it |

| They’re doing less with more glass than the NX8, and I mean that as a compliment. I bet outside the length and magnification, it’s a substantially better optic than the NX8 qualitatively. It coming in cheaper may just be a perk. Obviously this is supposition, but I think the NX6 line may be pretty sharp. |

I’ll admit i haven’t looked very hard, but when I glanced at NX6 pricing a few weeks ago I was seeing them at $1800 for the FCDMX reticle. I know there was a bit of a price increase on the NX8, but it was still around $1400 on EV. I know EV isn’t normal retail pricing, but I thought I remembered the NX8 still being under $1800. |

It’s a bit hard to tell because I’m comparing Europtic .mil pricing to NFs EV pricing but they look like they’ll pan out a little cheaper. Which makes sense, they’re stretching the physics less to make these things. Comparing the 3-18 vs the 2.5-20 not only is the 3-18 less mag range obvi but it uses almost two inches more to accomplish the task. I think they’re marketing this as a bit of a reduced performance lineup, which on paper they are, but I think they’ll be better scopes in actual use in terms of eyebox, depth of field, etc. Edit just checked the NX8 is around 300-400 more expensive than their analog NX6 on Europtic depending on models being compared when I turn .mil pricing off |

I held one at Scheels in KC last weekend. They had a fc-dmx FFP on display. I played with it for a few minutes. I was wearing glasses that correct most of my astigmatism. I currently have a razor g3 and had a nsx 1-4 before that. I like the razor except for the weight. The controls and dials were typical Nightforce. The dot looked as bright as my razor. I looked up at a skylight and had no problem seeing the dot. The dot seemed larger than the dot on the razor at 1x. It looked to me like a really small dot inside a circle vs the razor looking like a single red dot. I did not take the time to focus the reticle/image. Despite this, the image was very flat. Didn’t notice fisheye. 1x looked great. There was a lot of scope body showing at 1x vs the body disappearing on the razor. Moving the scope around, the eyebox seemed very generous. Similar to the g3 at 1x. Hard to tell just holding it, but it didn’t stand out as being small or finicky. Eyebox also seemed fine to me at 6x, easy to get behind without loosing the image. Take all this with a grain of salt since it was just holding it in the store. Hope this helps. |

I think it’s what I’ll stick with though I’m sure the NX6 is going to be nice. |

My hunch is this is the goal with the NX6 line in general. I hope they stretch the glass less, and give it some breathing room vs the NX8. The result will be a bigger and less zoom-ranging NX8, but I bet it’s a whole lot better qualitatively. Eyebox, eye relief, depth of field, image quality, etc. The Razor is stiff competition but if it shakes out it’ll be a Razor with a more useful reticle. |

| I just orderd the 1-6 FFP today, hope to have it in hand by the weekend and take it out Saturday. I am replacing a Elcan on my 14.5" SD (starting to need an adjustable eyepiece). It is probably overkill for my needs as I am no longer a professional user, but its been years since I bought a new higher end optic, and after trying out a bunch of other 1-6 LPVOs decided to just get the one I really wanted. I'll post some pics when it gets here. |

Brass Facts has posted some thoughts on the NX6. NX6, not bad. Not bad at all. Specifically for those looking to use the 1x on their LPVOs. If memory serves me right, it's strikingly similar to a ATACR. Though I'd want to side by side it again. better than a nx8 1-8x for sure. Beyond a somewhat aggressive eyebox on 1x, the reticle on 1x being a bit fine/needing illum. No auto ranging, and just falling a hair short of a perfect 1x. I think the PLXC RDB edges out the win, but not by much. So minor aspects may cause the NX6 for some to pull ahead (like not having a tie fighter reticle). No I don't think either are better/worse in durability. They're made in the same factory, likely to similar specs, almost certainly with the same erector assembly. With the 2-12x also being solid, the NX6 is turning out to be a solid product line. |

Have a new KS-3 inbound and want to put a nice 1x6 on it. Not real sure which version to get of the 3 NX6 1x6 options / reticles. Any strong preferences? I like the reticle on the SFP but really need to check one out in person unless someone really feels strongly about one vs another. What is everyone getting and where are they ordering from? Europtic says backorder - is that weeks or months? Also, what mount? Trying to keep weight down on this thing. Does Scheels regularly stock these things? I’ve looked at a few local shops and they didn’t have hardly any NF scopes at all. Thanks. |

I don’t see the necessity for FFP (more specifically the added cost that FFP brings) in something like a 1-6x. Yes, FFP is very nice to always have your reticle be in calibration. But we’re not talking about something like a 4-24x or 7-35x or a 6-36x. Even on a 1-8x or 1-10x, there’s enough range capability between the 6/8/10x magnification points that you can start to benefit from an FFP reticle. On a 1-6x how far could you possibly be shooting on the bottom or intermediate magnifications that justify the need for a calibrated reticle. Pretty much any caliber that’s defense-worthy or capable of taking game is going to be within its maximum point blank ranges by the time a reasonable shooter has cranked it to 6X and needs to start accounting for drop. Once you hit 100-200+ yards and the round starts dropping below zero, anybody would already cranked up to 6X trying to make a precise shots. At that point save yourself a few hundred dollars and get a premium SFP 1-6X LPVO instead – use the savings to get a nice mount or something. Unless you’re putting this on something with massive amounts of drop like a crossbow … it very much seems like a solution without a problem to solve. |

Just checked out the FFP one of these at Scheels. Wow - nice glass for sure. Nice reticle too. I also made the mistake of picking up the Mark5HD 250th limited edition. Holy crap what a beautiful scope. Crazy good. 2-10, unfortunately. But dang it really made the NX6 look budget-class. I think I’m almost sold on the FFP NX6. |

Most budget clip-ons excel from 1-4 and can be stretched to 6x with limited and varying success depending on model. Keeping the reticle and target in constant proportions helps when engaging a quick, unpredictable target once the distance starts to stretch a bit. Think coyotes and whatnot. The scope also has more forgiving properties such as eyebox at less zoom, making it easier to use at speed. FFP can do everything SFP can do. SFP cannot do everything FFP can do. |

I just got in an RDB PLXC and I REALLY like it. Over the standard PLXC the glass is a little flatter and clearer, at least for me, and the reticle is not only nuclear bright but they improved the horseshoe/chevron portion. I say that because it’s more range/precision oriented than the Razor. Goes to 8X, FFP, tree reticle, etc. I say that as a fan and owner of the Razor which shines most @ 1X and as a red dot that has zoom functionality. I say all this because it seems like the NX6 looks like it’s hoping to split the difference. Bright reticle, 6X, FFP tree reticle. I really like my Razor for 1X that can go to 6, and I really like my PLXC for mid-magnification that’s still great @ 1X. I’ll stick to having different optics for different things and I’ve got enough rifles to be able to do that, but I bet the NX6 will be great at splitting the difference and being a great down the middle LPVO both qualitatively and quantitatively. In general it looks like the NX6 line is shaping up to be a hit, particularly the 1-6 and 2-12. |

That’s the bummer about PA scopes is you can’t really walk into a brick n mortar store to check em out. |

I’m very content with my Razor and PLXC RDB so I doubt I mess with the NX6, but I bet it’s a lot nicer than the NX8. The ATACR was good enough (though not good enough to hold onto) but the NX8 was the only ‘premium’ optic I immediately knew just wasn’t for me. I think the NX6 will fix a lot of what I didn’t like about the NX8 |
