Not that the 1-6 is obnoxiously big or anything. As far as the weight goes, to me, I couldn't really perceive any difference. I know the NX6 is a tiny bit heavier on paper, but I couldn't notice a difference on the rifle. A couple notes I'll make (and these may not apply to you): I had my NX8 in a Reptilia 1.7 mount. I went with a 1.54 mount with the NX6 this time (still a Reptilia AUS). It seemed like for me the NX8 needed to be in a 1.7 mount. So far I like the 1.54 mount with the NX6. The other thing I noticed was that the diopter was a lot quicker to set up with the NX6. I know everyone's eyes are different, and I might have just been lucky. But I remember setting the NX8 diopter took a lot more trial and error. I haven't messed with thermal, so I won't be able to comment on that. |

Well I got a good deal on one so I’ll let everyone know my thoughts. I do very much enjoy my 1-6 Razor and 1-8 PLXC RDB so it’ll have stiff competition. I’ll admit I’ve not been too hot on the NX8 and ATACR (for the price), so if anything I’m a bit biased against NF LPVOs so certainly I’m not a fanboy. Worst case scenario I find out it’s good but not for me and I pass it along to the next guy. I’ll post my thoughts here in the next few days. |

I finally had time to mount mine, hope to get to range today. Attached File |

I need to get out and shoot this thing but I’ve got it in hand and mounted up. I have more intention on getting a 2-12, but saw a great deal on the 1-6 (FFP mil) and figured I could find a use for it. Initial impressions are very positive. Glass is fine, and when adjusted to my eye I’d describe the image as sharp and flat. The eye relief seems a little better than the NX8, and the eyebox is definitely better than the NX8. The ocular occlusion is a ton better, and the bezel is a lot less like a paper towel roll and a lot more like a Razor. The reticle is as bright as I’d expect from the NX8/ATACR lineage, and it’s got the strong DMX reticle. All in all I’d definitely call the NX6 a winner and a competitor to the Razor but with a nicer reticle, and a competitor to the PLXC RDB albeit larger and with less magnification. |

Your painted rifle is ugly, but I’m uglier, so send it to me and I’ll make it look good!
If it weren’t for double standards, we’d have no standards at all.

As long as there's no mechanical issues I don't need live fire to verify everything-have tons of time on the DMX already. My preliminary rating- Function 9/10. Nothing I critique holds it back, but certain things like low profile turrets and .1mrad adjustments wouldn't increase cost to implement and would be nicer. Value at MAP 5/10 (average) I think its about 10% price heavy at MAP. The scope is pretty phenomenal, albeit expensive for what it is. |

It's only like an Oz heavier than the nx8 The tall turrets are definitely messing me up and adding a few steps to how I prefer to use a backup RDS. Normally I’d just use a reptilia 90, but I don’t think the 2.5mm riser would clear enough and the 10 just looks doofy. Currently I’m setting it up in a COMM with their 12 top and acro adapter. While quality this adds steps and isn’t an elegant solution. While trying things out, the ROF ‘tall’ mount for the ACRO worked fine too. It’s not the end of the world and it’s really critiquing the mounting solution and not the optic itself, but it’d sure be cooler if they had low profile turrets on this thing and didn’t necessitate things like this for those wishing to piggyback a RDS. |

Could you measure the elevation turret height from the tube and also the windage length from tube (probably same)... I'm an offset enjoyer so likely not a deal breaker for me. Does any one know if the 2-12x42mm has same turrets? |

No issues aiming both eyes open-turrets dissappear. |

I asked Reptilia and they said you could use two 2.5's if the 10 is too much. |
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Yeah when I was looking for a solution I saw someone that did that on an NX8, and the NX8 looks like it has the same turret height. |

There's no difference optically between the JM models and the ebr models. If sfp is your jam, pick what you like |

I’ve been playing with mine a bit more. Overall I think it’s kinda a blend of the PLXC RDB and Razor, of which I have both. Size of the razor, mag range of the razor, but with a FFP reticle with a tree like the PLXC. I prefer the DMX NF reticle to the PLXC Mil. I vastly prefer the NX6 over the NX8. The NX8 is nice if you want a small 1-8 that’s FFP and has a bright reticle. I say that because it’s a turd in every other way. This thing though fixes most of why I say that. If you can live with the added size and 6X vs 8X it’s better most every other optical qualitative way. I still think I prefer the Razor for a 1X LPVO that zooms up, and I still prefer the PLXC RDB for a mid-magnification LPVO that zooms down to 1X, but I’d say this thing effectively splits the difference and is a great overall ‘middle of the road’ LPVO for lack of a better summation. I like it and it’s a step in the right direction for NF in the LPVO market. I hope they take some lessons learned from this and roll them into a Gen 2 ATACR. |

Interesting watching the 1x footage on both optics and seeing the PA have noticeably more image shift yet being called better. He does make solid points about value. I said the same thing in my initial impressions. The reticle complaints are interesting as well. I have no problem bracketing at 1x on the DMX. Also stating forgetfulness to turn the reticle off as a 'con' is weird. The image stability and parallax depth on my nx6 sample is superb. Ymmv I'm not trying to simp for one or the other-just stating observations. |
|
Still haven’t gotten to the range with my NX6 but holy cow it’s beautiful. Was larping in the yard and house today and it’s 1x / reticle is freaking unbelievable. For me, getting used to an LPVO again is more of my hurdle which I’ll get over eventually. Too many ACOGs for too long and the LPVOs I did/do have were more budget stuff that I never really loved. Think Leupold Patrols and the like. All trying to keep the weight way down. I could definitely feel the damn near extra pound on top of my rifle today with the NX6+mount. |
|
First day on the range! Pushed the 12.5/nx6 to 800y with wind and rain, off the magazine. Low hit % but made impacts! The 24" gong at 700 was pretty easy. The nx6 glass is a solid 4 out of 5 in overall IQ but the DoV is 5/5. Image stability stayed consistent from 400-800 making this thing almost God tier for a fixed parallax optic. |
