That upper is not Phat, it is morbidly OBESE, big, really big. It misses the whole point of having an intermediate round! It is built that way, just to take advantage of performance under higher pressure. It hides a LARGER barrel extension. As it misses the whole point of an AR, it too shall pass. This has no future. In size only... the HRT is closer to small rather than intermediate. After all, it fits into an AR. In performance the HRT embodies and is an excellent example of a true intermediate round. It is a well performing, moderate, modest round. All virtues that are not understood by the developers of this... thing. They simply do not understand. db Edited to add. I wish they had resurrected the .30RAR using Wilson Combat .458HAMR components. |

Thatd take some forming headache out . Aside from whoever is loading ammo , Druid Hills would likely load some up if all else went through . |

I wish the company the best in their endeavor. It’s always nice to have options as a consumer. I hope their product sells like wildfire. That said, I don’t see myself as a customer. The round nor the upper accomplish anything for me that I can’t do with existing hardware and cartridges. The standard DI upper works fine for me, particularly at one fifth the price of their upper. The muzzle velocity of the 30 Epic is impressive from a short barrel, but the sectional density of a 110 grain .30 caliber bullet is pretty poor. I like to see the little guy make it big. I hope they can attract military contracts. But I don’t see this as a recipe for success in the commercial market. |

Probly a good place for a monolithic. 135-150gr is the sweet spot from .200-.225 Im not seeing a lot of room on the commercial side ... and probably overly optimistic on a military contract . Even with the nickel alloy steel cases its not pushing big ballistics with the low BC and SD bullets . |

I've got a TAC 30 16" barrel from ARP, same as the .30 HRT which I also had at one time. Have not shot it in years. Making brass isn't too much a PIA, would be better if it were offered commercially. For me, the performance accuracy wise at 100 is pretty good for my barrel and load which is the Sierra 125gr TGK. Seeing as I've not shot it or hunted with it in years was recently thinking of selling off the barrel, dies, and brass. I don't see this offering doing much. |
