Under Project SALVO during the 1950's, the military was looking for ways to increase the rate of fire power.
Many (27?) different kinds were made in long and short neck, as well as duplex and triplex. The lower projectiles usually have a cant, or crooked base to aid in dispersion. Double tap does make a double projectile called " The Equalizer" that's now made in all types of hand gun calibers. Remington use to have the "Multiball", and so on........ None, including the 30.06 duplex and triplex, have survived more than a couple of years. |
