I've got a factory Spikes 11.5 CHF chrome-lined upper that I'm going to switch over to a quad rail for an MK18ish build. I'm not going for clone correct obviously. I am looking for a decent lower to complete the build. I don't want to spend a fortune, but don't want junk either. I'm thinking maybe Aero, but it's been awhile since I've built a lower. What do you guys recommend? I'm also considering going with the H&R brace instead of the SBA3. Anyone have experience with it?

I would avoid Aero at the moment based on all the QC issues they have apparently been having. Maybe try one of the Bad Attitude Department's clone lowers. I'd use an Andersen no logo lower. Tried a bunch of ambi lowers and while nice, they are not worth the price premium if you don't really "need" the ambi functions. I like ZEV/MEGA lowers when they go on sale, but AM-15 no logo for $30 is a no-brainer. Zev/Mega are some of the best lowers I've used, though they can be more expensive. Anderson has been the most affordable, but solid all around and have never given me any problems. I also like Aero but I have not purchased from them recently. It seems they are going through some things and they seem to be upsetting customers lately. Most recent lower has been a Ballistic Advantage. Ballistic Advantage is a sister company of Aero, so many people claim their lowers are rebranded Aero. However there are several slight differences between my examples. I don't believe Aero machines BA's lowers. The BA lower has been solid so far though. |

You can even get it engraved to say MK18 Mod 0. |
