The LVAW handguards from ALTRD are close to shipping out to those who pre-ordered them. This is 1 of only 3 in the U.S. so far, all of which are made for the Virtus (though he also made some for the Legacy MCX as well). While it's true that the LVAW upper and lower are slightly different from both the Legacy and the Virtus in terms of looks and parts compatibility, this is as close as one can hope to get without tracking down the real deal. The quality of the handguard is fantastic, as well as the fit and finish. It's very apparent that a lot of time and care was taken in manufacturing them. It fits more securely than my OEM Sig SD hand guard with less play, and comes with its own steel handguard link (the part that the pivot pin passes through to lock the handguard in place). The rail itself is 6061-T6 extruded aluminum, Type-III hard coat anodized for those wondering. My only critique at all is the lack of a heat shield, though there are holes already drilled for the screws that would secure one in place. Overall, very pleased with the quality of this piece.

Hopefully they make more or someone makes a LVAW handguard, preferably stateside, for legacy and Virtus. I’d buy two right now. |
