So just to run down the critical components Lilja 17" Barrel: limited run? Unclear if they have a current offering minus the correct markings and finish M4 Recce: limited FF RAS: discontinued pending outstanding contracts 99204 Gas block: discontinued NXS 2.5-10: I shudder to say Colt GWOT uppers: salty surplus or NOS only Very uncertain future for these clones |

So people who have the supposed setup can convert them. I asked Ron about these rifles back in 2018 when I needed a custom collar for the Larue I had chopped that was a hair long and he was still taking phone calls. He really didn't have a lot of info about it. Never mentioned a special suppressor but I'm sure I just wasn't being descriptive enough. Back then I think MTX was the only one who had a flush can NSW Recce rifle. I just copied him. Outrider has a similar setup too just not as cloney Either way cool to actually have info on it. I'll edit the OP. |

I see they've posted the can by itself on the AE site, but I didn't see a collar in the page, just the can. It notes that no cans will be sold until all of the 50 barrel/can kits are fulfilled. Makes me wonder if the cans alone are gonna be super limited too given the manufacturing difficulty mentioned in the video. If nothing else I'll stick with my 15.1 but would be cool to grab one of the cans. |

Is FF RAS discontinued? Seems like they're still releasing them (Thoroughbred Armament just got them in stock). |

Very cool episode @TinyCrumb, thanks for taking the time to record that. Is the G3 Recce on the AE website legit? Are there any pictures in that configuration with the 1-8x ATACR like is listed as a correct optic? I’m aware of the rifle with the LVAW can, but I’m more interested in the 5.56 variant. |
|
My understanding is that more Recce cans will be available than just what’s coming with the kit. The kit just simplifies it and will come dimpled in the correct spot for the collar. The collar is held in place with a set screw and loctite or some other adhesive, no step on the barrel. |

This includes the FF RAS, NT4, MRE, URX 4 and probably some others. It's not clear when things will stop coming in. |

Looks like the M4 Recce and can are up on AEM's website but not for sale yet. Really cool that the Infinite Armory was able to get this out into the open. I'll definitely pick one up for my 416 recce but also might just get the kit because who doesn't want a Lija barrel...frickin lazer beams... |

AFAIK barrel is a standard production thing from Lilja but they typically do them in "batches" so if they're sold out it's just a matter of being patient and wait for the next batch to come in. Additionally, I believe AE is going to attempt to stock them regularly as a dealer, but it's a lot of capital to invest b/c the cost on them is not much better for a dealer. But they will be obtainable outside of the kit. 2. Can is not limited edition. Only the first run where they're black oxide coated and come with the kit. The M4 Recce can will be a standard production can (but cerakoted) and available as a individual purchase after the kits are sold. 3. I have it on good authority that there's a good batch of these potentially being dropped soon. I'm sure they will have the newer part # and markings, but still great option. 4. I wasn't aware of the gas block being discontinued but I still see surplus ones floating around often enough. Should be obtainable. 5. Yeah, the x24 has always been tough, especially if you want it in the original configuration. That's definitely a tough part. |

I'll edit the OP. Only doing 50 just really comes down to the capital investment to put these together. AE doesn't believe in doing pre-orders, and so when you order one when they drop, they'll be in stock and already timed/installed and ready to ship. That's just how they do business. But it's major up-front capital to purchase all the barrels, produce that many cans before selling them, and then put in all the manual machining time for the collars and timing them to the barrels + installing them. And beyond the capital needed to make that happen, it takes a significant amount of time to do it correctly for each one and it's simply not sustainable for AE to become essentially a 1-off shop manually doing these for each one they sell. At some point they need to get back to their regular, profitable business of making production suppressors and shipping them to dealers/distributors. The fact that they're doing 50 like this for us is a sidequest for them but awesome for us. The problem with asking Ron about these builds is you're missing a critical detail … one that I was not very successful at conveying during the video. I was trying to focus on doing a good interview so a lot got skipped over. You need to remember that Ron makes suppressors, he didn't deal with the customer and he didn't deal with the "builds". We have good evidence that these suppressors were originally made for a different configuration and it's Phil who would have been handling all of those details. Ron might very well not have any clue what "build" these were for or know anything about the "recce rifle". If you would have asked him about the suppressor itself, then he could have told you every last detail. But asking about the "build" would get you nowhere. He most likely doesn't know and definitely doesn't really care (in the sense that he doesn't geek out on the history of this stuff the way we do). A better way to explain it: If you ask Ron "Can you tell us more about the NSW Recce Riffle, a rifle that has a KAC rail and a Lilja barrel in it that used an Ops Inc can?" he'd probably have no idea what you're talking about. If instead you ask him "There were suppressors purchased originally on X date, and over Y amount of time and delivered to Z customer, can you tell us more about those suppressors?" he's an open book and not only can tell you everything but has records & even the tooling. It was knowing all of that key information first that allowed us to unlock the info from Ron. We will probably film a quick follow-up Q/A video soon to explain some of this stuff better so the timeline and history is clearer. But there's a very good chance that Ron has never even heard of these being used on a Lilja barrel. |

Correct, the can will be available as a production run item. The main advantage you're getting with the kit is 1) you're getting one with the correct black oxide coating instead of cerakote and 2) you're getting a barrel/collar combo that's already setup perfectly and individually timed to the can. There's nothing preventing people down the road from buying this can and either doing all this work themselves or sending it to a shop to have it done … it's just that AE cannot become a full-time custom shop for this build. They need to move on and get back to their main business. I think the kits are a super cool opportunity, but if any of you aren't in the financial position to make it happen right now or miss out on the drop … it doesn't mean it's not possible to do the build, it might just take a little more legwork down the road. |

I can't tell y'all how thankful I am for you guys watching and giving it the time of day. Marketing for IA is gonna be a hard uphill battle until it reaches a critical mass and every share you guys do of the content is a massive help. But yes, I'm glad you caught on to that. Not only is it very real … they're still being used. There's a reason AE is bringing back this can from the dead more than just us civilian nerds wanting to clone them. I wish I could say more but read between the lines and your best guess will most likely be accurate. Yes, there are photos (and much more than that) but unfortunately none that can be publicly shared (yet). It's pretty much an identical situation to the MPW "IYKYK video" 300 blackout(s) - you'll most likely see them pop up when the inevitable deployment photos leak if you know what you're looking for. I will put a couple "clones" together of the modern configuration of them and snap some pics so you guys can use it as an example if you're interested in cloning the current incarnation of them. |

I believe current timeline is to hopefully have the kits done by end of October - but barrel manufacturing timeline is going to play in to that a bit. Appreciate it. Immensely! I highly recommend the kit even if you're only doing a 416 for now purely just to get the can with the black oxide coating. I don't know if you guys caught the "to be continued" at the end of the video, but I'll be posting the 2nd half which was the build overview and range day as soon as I get it edited. And additionally we'll probably film a quickie part 3 / follow-up FAQ to explain a few of the history details a little clearer. I'll also be dropping a blog post on IA's blog hopefully in the next 2 weeks that goes into finer detail as well. |

That's right. The rifles @ dev, some of the collars are just screw + loctite and some are screw + dimple + loctite - each one done individually by the gunsmiths there. ALL of the kits from AE will have the dimple setup because it's far more secure and ensures proper timing of the can - but if you wanted to try one without the dimple you can always order the barrel separately, buy one of the production cans, and then assemble it @ home. This is just really one of those tricky things where AE wants to offer this as a production item, but they know full well that people are going to try and go outside of the parameters like buying cheaper/different barrels and attempting to do the clone and messing something up. There's a large opportunity for error if not using the proper parts with proper tolerances… so they're taking a big risk here hoping that as a community we can police ourselves and get the knowledge out there of how to use this suppressor correctly so that they don't end up drowning in customer support. At one point there was some serious discussion about changing the design to be more dummy-proof and to AE's credit, they were willing to take the risk and keep it true to the original. |

I have a KAC rail that’s been collecting dust for over a year, but haven’t decided if I do a Mod 1 or something else. This ‘new’ version might be a good use if that rail. Would also give me an excuse to buy another can to have dedicated to a rifle. ETA: quoted the wrong post. I’d appreciate pics of the modern incantation. |

At the time I wasn’t even aware it was “used.” I wish the 16.5” barrels were rifle length gas because they shoot so nice and everyone deserves to experience them. Always cool to learn new things even though I’m not much into the clone game. |

It lists it as a 13.375” but that’s longer than the FF RAS which is flush fit in all of the .mil pictures. |

If anyone remembers a while back, there was someone who posted a clone with the MI rail, Lilja barrel and a DA flash hider and said that it was built off of an issued gun. |

Seems it is. Hmmmm, the correct optic for one of these is hens teeth rare, right? I’m not as die hard a cloner as some, but the Mod 1 wound seem to be easier to clone from a glass perspective, no? My list of things to buy only grows, and adding a can, barrel, optic, etc for a new build based on the FF RAS rail is a deep hole to fill ![]() Help me, TinyCrumb, you’re my only hope

That one in the picture from AE's website may be the 10.5", but the 12.625" MI Combat handguards were (are?) in use with 16.5" Lilja barrels. They were used briefly with the garbage Sandman cans but I believe the M4-2000 as well. And based off of what @TinyCrumb is saying, the Ops cans too. |

![]() The REAL Navy SEAL DEVGRU Recce Rifles Revealed Apologies for the quality, it's pretty rough in terms of kinda sucking at filming YouTube and shooting at the same time … but … if you guys are interested at all in seeing both the M4 and HK416 dev recce's, we published Part 2 of the episode today which includes a breakdown of both builds as well as some shooting footage. Hopefully it's useful for anyone considering building one of these in terms of what's needed. |

With this being the factory setup, I’m interested to see the recommend remedy for the inevitable home brew kits that come later, Like TC said, AE is really sticking their neck out there with this style of Mount. If you put even a fraction of the effort into the content as you do your other endeavors we all know it will be a quality channel. Especially by today’s fly by night podcast/youtube standards. I personally liked the breakup in format and the edit style solidified the shit-talking banter between the boys and I is no different from one group of gun nerds to another. I’m glad you kept the audio original, I speak for us all when I say, we want to hear the clones too! Loved you kept mention of the not so perfect parts of the build too, watching a prototype process unfold is pretty remarkable in the super hush hush gun industry. You could have easily forgone that bit but didn’t, and that certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. My only suggestion for future videos would be to space out the cloner bombshells so I survive past episode 8 or 9. As for your surplus, I’d love to get the lowdown of how you came about some of that stuff, I’m still hunting an Vero M4 match to really tie the room together. I know a lot of it is right person, place and time, but I have to ask, and I guess you’d be the person to ask, with the genuine DEV surplus passing through. Were only Vero marked m4 match rails used for the fulfillments? Did any of the Titusville M4 match marked 99167 make their way to end users? |

Screw the suppressor on and let the collar lay where ever, then tighten down the set screw? @Marz1024 pretty much already covered this, but yeah the uppers that we actually got our hands on, the collar is effectively "timed" to the correct thread depth (which isn't bottomed out on the threads/shoulder) and then use the set screw to mark the position and then they were bedded with red loctite to effectively seal the collar to the barrel. We were also told that some of them are dimpled as well for the set screw when that's not enough. Each and every one of these was done as a 1-off by a gunsmith @ dev who could give it the time and attention to make sure it was perfect (including the machining of the collar itself) - which of course is very different than trying to make a commercial product for the general public. So, that's why AE is going to dimple the barrels and offer it as a "kit" … because if it's done that way, then it guarantees you it's perfectly set up (because AE is doing it themselves) AND it's clone correct. They will also be providing instructions for anyone that wants to do it themselves with loctitle, dimple, or both. Their first instinct was to not offer it this way but instead modify the collar setup for a step in the barrel the same way the Mk 12 collars are done … but in the end they agreed to do it the correct way … BUT … if that starts to backfire on them, I could see them discontinuing it very fast. ETA: This only really applies to the M4 version, as the HK416 version has the gas block that the collar can back up against as a backstop if the set screw failed for whatever reason. We've seen close pics of both setups - where the collar is sitting against the 416 gas block and where it's not. |

For what it's worth, the day we were shooting the prototype cans, the M4 version had a burr on it that was preventing it from locking on the taper, so it was rotating and coming loose during firing. Even with that, we still didn't get a baffle strike … the threads and the small engagement that was still on the collar seemed to be enough that it was just rotational freedom but wasn't actually affecting the bore axis. So my hunch is that baffle strikes will be rare. I think the more common problem is that people who do their own setups for this won't have the collar secured properly enough and then it'll move as they "uuga duuga" threading the can on and move the collar. |

Really appreciate that … I think part of it is the quality just isn't up to my own standards yet so I feel self conscious throwing it out there. But I'm pushing hard to make them better. I definitely can promise there won't be too many more "bombshells" haha, most of it will just be regular-ole clone related topics. There's a little bit of imposter syndrome as much of the info and pics that I have access to in cloning a lot of this stuff was not my own doing but came from friends … so I'm just trying to be extra careful about making sure they get the credit and gratefulness for that. I'm just doing the easy part of sharing it. We do indeed already have an episode planned of how to find surplus stuff. And of course, I'll be mentioning IA as one of the primary places. I literally got my last Vero M4 Match rail on IA by just having a saved search setup on there. Someone listed the very upper & rail you saw in that video for $700 . Saw the search notification popup in my email, sent an offer, and boom was in my mailbox a couple days later. Miracles do happen haha. As much as we're trying to build this for all y'all, I'm building it for myself too! Regarding the rails specifically, the uppers that went through our hands already had the Midwest rails on them, so I did not personally get to handle one with a RAS. My actual suspicion right now given some of the recent timing we've uncovered (cans were purchased wayyyy before the rails) is that they might actually be the M4 Sniper marked ones - but I'm still chasing that down. But either way I think it's Match, Sniper, or both. But definitely Vero timeline, not Titusville. |
