BTT I purchased this laser through Optics Planet close to twenty years ago. After selecting "buy" they went through a bunch of contortions trying to delay/deny/reject my purchase despite having a 15-year history of transactions. They finally ended up selling it to me. What should I ask for it on the open market? |

Since you’re not getting much traction, I’ll post just to hopefully get you at least looking in the right direction, although I don’t have any concrete current day data to give you on pricing. Anyways, I haven’t seen any of those for sale on the secondhand market in a number of years. You’d occasionally see them pop up here and there in the EE and a few other places in the $250-$500 range 5-10 years ago. I was able to dig up a Reddit for sale post from about 5 years ago with a for sale price of $250. There does appear to be one active listing on eBay currently, with a Buy It Now price of $700. Just from a marketability standpoint, about the only people who are going to be interested in a PEQ-5 CVL are those into the clone game, and given how old the PEQ-5 is, they’re quickly moving towards the retro market. Complicating the desirability factor is the fact that they never really saw a whole lot of widespread operational use on military weapons. You’d occasionally see one mounted randomly on a gun somewhere, but most everyone had either a PEQ-2, PAQ-4, or some variant of a VITAL in those days, so they’re not very popular in the cloner markets either. Maybe a post in one of the clone threads or the NV forum (even though it’s a vis laser) might be able to shed a bit more light for you, but IMO, in 2025, when full power PEQ-2s can be had for sub $1000, I just don’t see you getting more than a couple hundred bucks from a PEQ-5. Just my $0.02. Hope someone can give you some more concrete, up to date data. |

This guy was selling several NOS over multiple listings for as low as $300. The “airsoft” in the listing was alarming, but the reviews said they were real.
