What's up with duplex and triplex rounds? Do any militaries regularly use them, or are they something that gets experimented with every so often but we still can't make it work well enough? Or is it a totally dead technology? |

The duplex 7.62x51 rounds, for example, were built with an expected dispersion of the second bullet, allowing more "coverage" so to speak. It didn't work well, and the whole idea was (eventually) abandoned. Read up on Project SALVO. Here's a good place to start. |
