Same here... got the OKWv2 and am really impressed, I think it is the most versatile head I have. Its got all the candella and really good spill too. Looking at the PLHv3 specs, it seems to be such a small step up over the PLHv2 Im not sure I would notice, nor sure I'd not rather just get a second OKWv2 instead. |

In my opinion they are going to be basically identical at close range, but the OKWv2 will have the ability to punch out further/through fog, etc, better. |

Did a night shoot on the 3rd. Ended up raining on the 200 yard stage and the OKWv2 punched through with no issues. On the up close stages I did not feel the slight lack of spill compared to the PLHv2 was an issue. The tight hotspot work fairly well as a point shooting aim spot on the super close targets. |

OKW, Turbo DF, are tight enough beam patterns that I find myself actually truing the light to the reticle/laser when I install it on the rail. |

Directly comparing mine side by side on a white wall, my eyeballs can't tell any difference at all in the spill size or intensity (PLHv2 vs OKWv2)... in my opinion, the only difference is the size/candela of the hotspot. It has very noticeably more spill than the Surefire Turbos while having a hotspot close enough to identical... again, based on my opinion/eyeballs comparing side by side on a white wall/controlled conditions (I think my eyeballs work pretty good for now at least. I've done two night shoots with Turbos, and managed to skip over a rifle target both times, costing time to come back and do it right. Can I blame it all on lack of spill, I don't know, but we're talking match stages with a walkthrough where I know about where all the targets are, and I still managed to do it. I like the range of the turbos, but from the minute I took them out of the box, I noticed the lack of lateral spill. OKWv2 is better in that regard for sure... Keeps the range, and improves the spill. Of all the lights I've had, if I could only keep one, I think it would be it. I will be using it at my next night shoot. |
