| Anybody ever used one of these in a high temp situation such as desert or leaving a weapon with it in a hot car or some other environment for an extended period of time? |

The plastic ones yeah. But traditional metal ones, I've never had it happen, and it's hotter here than in Tennessee. Maybe in Arizona you might have a metal one warp a bit. |
