Greetings all!
So, I finally got around to finishing my AR15A4 build. Well, more or less. I chose to use a vortex flash hider instead of an A2 one. Other than that, I think it's pretty good. Question: what kind of sling assembly is proper for one of these? It looks like some shinanegans were needed to get it to work with the buttstock and forward sling swivel. Would it be proper to install one of the Colt sideways sling mounts for the front? Thanks! |

Back in the day before Daniel Defense made rifles, I installed their Burnsed Loop on my issued M16A4. It’s discontinued but there may still be some lying around somewhere (and there seem to be other similar products out there). I didn’t have a Colt side-mounted forward slug loop at the time, but I think they would work well together. I’m just not a fan of having the sling mounted all the way out at the end of a long buttstock. |

I don't see the point when you can get a Colt for 700$ and add your own RAS. From Aeros other products, I don't know if it will be chrome lined. I thought they usually did QPQ Nitrided barrels. |

Yeah, seems little pricey for something that is still in production. Even their Retro line is overpriced, if you are patient you can buy real colt parts for less. I bet they will still sell a ton of these though to people who aren't patient enough to piece a gun together. I'm just glad there is another source for us cloners, the more competition the better prices for us

So I Have a plain Jane M16A4 build that I am going to keep like the picture below. I want to put the proper UID sticker and like to know info is on the rack tag on the stock so I could replicate it. I also included a pic of the build as it sits.

Aero and Brownells teamed up to make clone M4 and M16A4 guns. Aero is making the lowers for both series of rifles with a new roll mark and special serial number range. I was wondering whether they removed the A on the right side or not because in their video they said they did but I didn't see the right side. 
I wouldn't want that on my clones, hopefully the backlash is enough to make them take it off. |

Terrible Typical @Aero_Precision & @Brownells fail It’s not “Property of USA.” It’s “PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT.” There’s no point in calling it a clone lower if it’s all wrong. It’s pretty damn easy to Google “M16A4 rollmark” and see images of real A4s. And it’s not like there’s a fucking 108-page thread about every damned detail of the musket. FN’s version sucks too since it’s marked “M16 Rifle” and “5.56 NATO.” And that video? Was it recorded on an old flip phone? For those manufacturers thinking of tapping into the craziness that is cloning, here’s a simple guide to clone lower rollmark/engraving: Have the required model number, caliber & serial # info engraved on the left side of the magazine well (like below) PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT. M16A2 CAL. 5.56 M.M. 1234567 PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT. M16A4. CAL. 5.56MM 12345678 PROPERTY OF U.S. GOVT. M4A1 CARBINE CAL. 5.56 MM. X1234567 The company name & location would be in its normal location. Selector markings would be SAFE, SEMI, AUTO (both sides) for the M4A1 version and SAFE, SEMI, BURST (both sides) for the A2 & A4. The word “Property” would be spaced/justified such that its letters are even from P to Y across the top of the words below it. No (or at least small) logo on the mag well and please not marked “multi.” Font is something normal and not gigantic. And for the record, I love ordering from BRN, love their enthusiasm for retro and think Aero makes quality stuff. |

Can I play with you cool kids now. I’m building an A4.
I got the Colt A4 and bought the Echo 2 trigger for it but the Echo want work with the colts. So the echo is going into something else and I bought the geissle SSA enhanced trigger. I got the aimpoint comp4s over the Acog because I like Aimpoints and I never shoot past 300yards. I’m probably just going to take apart the Dainel Defense to use the rail because I don’t ever shoot it. I actually like the DD rail better then the A4 one plus the DD one wont cost me any money. I ordered the upper vise block set. I also ordered a spare Colt A4 upper so I can switch between irons and aimpoint. I am looking forward to this build. It won’t be correct but it’s nice enough for me to enjoy.
