I've always used Rig. I was wanting to try and switch to Lubriplate SFL-0, but it has had a recent massive price increase. Read the specs for Lucas Red N Tacky. On paper it has a better temperature range than Rig or Lubriplate. Googled it and it seems there are people using it for guns. Besides trigger components I use grease for everything and it's never let me down. Just figured I'd get some last minute opinions on Red N Tacky before I bought a tub. Thanks. |

We use it on farm equipment, works well. I recently switched over to it from gun oil and so far haven’t had any issues. Put it on a couple pistols and a couple ar’s shooting suppressed 300 blackout. I don’t have high round counts behind it yet, but so far it’s worked well. |

I use that Redline red racing moly synthetic grease. It’s unbelievable. The synthetic moly seems indestructible. One rifle is still going 5 years with one application and looks brand new and cycles like butter. One tube will last a lifetime and pretty much eliminates wear from my experience. I used to be a EWL grease guy (still great stuff too). |

I've been trying the Red n Tacky for the past few weeks and really like it. I've been using it with Breakfree CLP. I use clp first, wipe it all off, then apply the grease to certain spots. I tried it on the AR, 1911, and Glock. It works great on all 3 but on the 1911 if I put too much it'll get a bit sluggish until I cycle it a dozen or so times and squeeze out the excess. At the range, I can see the grease marks on the slide even after 300 rounds. So yeah, I think Red n Tacky is great. Not sure about long term storage yet. |

SFL-0 is a #0 aluminum complex, full synthetic grease with an ISO 46 base oil. Lucas RNT is like an ISO ~220 base oil. Might be a 150. They change producers once in a while. And it’s an #2 lithium complex grease. You’re comparing apples and oranges. Technically both fruit. But that’s where the likeness stops. For guns, I can’t super recommend a lithium grease. I’d stick with SFL-0 every day over the RNT or even Mystik for firearms. |
