| I am late to the game I know, I have all but decided to go with a PSA upper, looking for something maybe 10.5” but probably 11.5”, mainly going to be shooting standard factory ammo, 55gr the vast majority of the time, might throw some 62gr through it as well, checked out there website and they have a crap ton of uppers, can anybody suggest a couple? Just going to be a plinker, no real hardcore tactical stuff going on here. Thanks |

I sort of like the silliness of my 7-1/2" pistol myself. In my mind the point of an AR pistol is to make fire and stuff. I would have to look up the details but it was and old school build from someone like Model-1 Sales. Believe it or nuts, the thing has run 100% for all these years. |

| Still thumbing through the PSA website, man there is alot of stuff, is it just me or are you probably better off piecing a gun together by picking a upper and a lower compared to trying to find a complete gun? I mean the complete guns seem more expensive then piecing one together. |

Honest question, I have a 13.7 mid I shoot suppressed. If I take the suppressor off direct thread, the thing sounds like a f'ing cannon going off compared to my 14.5 or 16 un-suppressed. What gives and are these shorter ones louder or is that about as loud as it gets? And if so it doesn't seem like it would be a long term pleasant thing to do. |

And if so it doesn't seem like it would be a long term pleasant thing to do. the only barrels I have shorter than 16" are the 300blk at 10.5" and the 6.8spc at 11.3". the 6.8spc has a Midwest Industries blast can on it and it thumps pretty hard. the few times I've been at the range near a 5.56 shorter than 16" they've been pretty loud. not nearly as loud as a friend's 6.5 creedmore Bergara with a muzzle brake/loudener that tosses stuff around on the next bench over when it goes off. |

Never been around a 7.5, but a 10.5” is loud AF. |

No one has figured out the math, but as barrel length approaches 0, muzzle blast approaches infinity, which would destroy this plane of existence, because deafening God is not a good career move. Don't make God cry. Leave the barrel length a positive number. Also, my old 11.5" thought it was field artillery. Naturally, I did the intelligent thing and got a 10.5" this time. |

A linear comp helps throw the sound down range and less to the folks on either side of you. Muzzle brakes are best for pissing off your neighbors at the range. I bought a PSA 14.5" 6.8spc upper and discovered the front sight gas block was leaking. It caused the gun not to cycle 100%. Once I finally figured out what was causing it, just used some locktite to seal up around the gas port in the barrel. Not trying to sway you away from PSA. They usually do a decent job.
