This is lightweight to me:
Built around a 16" lightweight DD barrel...MOE furniture, Aimpoint micro, Troy fixed rear sight, G2X light in IWS mount, QD sling attachments. Just a hair over 7 lbs unloaded without the sling. If it didn't have paint on it, it might be exactly 7 lbs

Just a quick list but the upper is basically a 16" BCM lightweight Middy with a TTO comp, PA dot, AD QD mount and a API 15" carbon tube. Lower has a ergo grip and a Vltor Imod. I think the weight is about 5-6#, give or take a few oz. I was hoping for less, but without doing a 14.5" bbl and polymer receivers, the weight won't drop much more. Wish i had a scale to get an actual reading...

Without the Optics, grip and light, its 6.8 pounds With everything, including my Aimpoint 3x magnifier in a larue flip to side mount, it tips the scales at 8 even. Still pretty light. So how the heck do I go about getting a BCM 14.5 LW midlength AND a LW rail system? BCM does not sell any of their LW 14.5 middy's without the FSB and you have to get the fh/comp pinned. Are you guys getting the pinned fh/comp milled off and ether shaving the FSB or replacing it with a low profile gas block?
Why don't they just sell the LW with some 11-13inch railed options???

They don't require removal of the FSB, are pretty light, and very competitively priced. |

Lovin these lightweight builds. I'm waiting on my New Frontier lower so i can put it on my carbon 15 upper and hopefully get something that is around 5lbs or under.
FWIW we should get together a list of user names / guns from lightest to heaviest and a link to the post to show mods. I'd like to see who has the lightest functioning weapon out there. |

I have everything but the Bushmaster super light barrel which is on backorder. I am hoping it ends up about 5 and half pounds empty when done. |
