If I remember correct this is right at 5 pounds. It feels like nothing in hand. It has a thin 7.5'' barrel and alum. brake. The SAR3 rail and arm brace is also very light. My pistol grip, TRS-25 and lower parts are also light. I was not really going for the lightest gun but it just ended up being light because of it's size and parts. For a fully accessorized gun it is pretty light.
I could take off the flip sights, AFG, rail covers and sling swivel and be in the 4 point something range but that is pointless.

Does anyone know if Fostech is still going to be selling that 3.5lb AR?
The Mrs. would definitely shoot more if she had a 3.5lb AR. ETA: On topic, I just put this together. 5.8lbs, I am still waiting on a set of Troy micro buis that will absolute co-witness the low-pro RMR. Not digging the feel of the paracord tube wrap, so I have a foam cover coming. If you shop right, pencil barrels can be just as cheap as "regular" government/M4 barrel profiles, M-LOK handguards actually cost more than standard handguards, and the Blackhawk stock comes with budget lower build kits. Obviously, going from seven pounds to six pounds is quite a bit easier than going from six pounds to five pounds -- but I hope I've demonstrated that 1) ounces start to add up and 2) you can cut weight cheaply. |

Anyone know if the LWRC ultra compact setup will be lighter then a PWS enhanced buffer tube (4.3oz) and Magpul SL-k (7.9oz)? I also have a 2A adj bcg so I could lighten the buffer more then a standard carbine buffer with no weights, etc...
I'll post pic's of my rebel LW build as soon as I get home. |

I didn't really intend on this being "lightweight" per se. It's a 12" (BHW) 450B pistol. It qualifies for deer season where I'm from because of the straight walled case.
With 10rd of 225g Hornady loaded it is <7lb. Got the SiCo brake because it's a good brake. Might get the can later if I'm feeling cute, IDK.

I'm not sure if this counts, but I have my POF Rogue small frame 308 16.5" AR (heavily modified) at 6lbs w/ irons w/o mag and w/ scope w/o mag coming in at 7.5 lbs. I've also modified Superlative Arms piston kit to work with this setup. It's certainly lighter than my 16" PWS MK116 mod 2 lightweight. I think I can shave off about 1 oz after I receiver my new titanium muzzle brake.

Attached File Just a smidge over 5 lbs with optic. I think I am going to swap out the slick side upper for a standard one. The slick side is much thicker and is slightly heavier. |

Sir Bumpsalot! 7-pounds-even:   Just finished this build. I like to think of it as the “AR15-A5.” Materials list: Aero slick upper. Larue LAT handguard. Magpul Mlok rail covers. Surefire M300 on SF mount. BFG sling. Criterion chrome-lined 16” pencil barrel with FSB pinned by RAW. A2 FH. Daniel Defense fixed rear sight. Microbest chrome BCG. Aimpoint Duty RDS on Scalarworks mount. JP Enterprises silent captured spring. Radian charging handle. KP15 lower with Larue MBT trigger. Might eventually add a magnifier. Weight without mag (but otherwise exactly as pictured) is 7 pounds even. For comparison, my Colt 6720 with factory furniture, but with the same sling, light, and optic is 6 pounds, 15 ounces. Basically the KP15+slick upper weight savings allowed me to trade up to a stout free-float HG for a 1oz weight penalty. And the Larue is not even the lightest available, but at the time it was by far the cheapest at $90. The weight would probably be in favor of this build over the 6720 if I used a standard spring&buffer, as the JPSCS adds a couple of ounces net. I’m very happy with it so far. Need to go shooting next week! |

 Wasn't aiming for a lightweight build.... it was more cheap build, but this weighed in at 6 lbs 9.4 oz with a 20" BBL, and that seemed fairly light weight.
