Is it safe to use CLR for cleaning a nickel boron bcg? I have a number of BC's that are made of nickel boron and was wondering if the chemicals in CLR will harm any of the parts in it. IE - Firing pin, bolt, gas key etc.

CLR? As in Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover? I wouldn't use that on any of my firearms.

Use CLP instead

Is it safe: maybe, maybe not

Would you want or need to: No

Normal cleaning or slip 2000 carbon cutter if lots of build up

Many use CLR with success on supressor baffles.

I wouldn't use it on NiB personally.

I use a nickel boron bolt and carrier in my M16a1.
I soak it in mineral spirits for a couple hours and it essentially wipes free.

CLR is great for removing heavy carbon such as a ring that may develop in the throat/leade of your barrel. The parts mentioned (bolt, carrier, etc) don't need it.
