I picked up an old surefire 9p at a garage sale today and I know its old. I'm not sure how old or if these old lights are worth anything besides throwing a malkauf head on it and leaving it in the truck. The body has no markings. Only the tail cap has wording. I bought a 6P, new in plastic, from the dear departed UncleSamsRetailOutlet.com. and I did exactly what you are contemplating - Malkoff led conversion and use it here and there. I'm also thinking about getting a McClicky tail switch. But I doubt I'll ever carry it regularly. There are sources to identify manufacturing dates and windows. From the bezel I think yours might be pretty early. |

| I'd agree with others on selling it. That is a very early 9P and in great shape it appears so a flashlight collector may pay more than you think for it. Sold a 3P from same Era NIB still wrapped in the cellophane years ago on epay , it went for 600+, and that was 20+ years ago. Surprised me on what people will pay sometimes. |
