This thing is pretty darn good. Haven’t had it to the range yet, just larping in the house/yard. 1x performance is very good. Like insanely good. So far, with my eyes, I have not had the infamous issues at 8x that some of the reviewers talk about, beyond what I expect out of an LPVO at max magnification. So far. It’s not nearly as bad as I was preparing myself for. I found adjusting it throughout the mag range resulted in a razor sharp reticle and focus. I can’t say the eyebox is any tighter than my NX6 1-6 or AMG. I see the illumination disappear, if I’m not lined up, just like with the other FFP LPVOs. Very clear glass and the color seems to be very neutral. In comparison. larping with my AMG the glass color is noticeably different than reality. Color is a bigger deal for my eyes when I’m 1x’ing. Again, my eyes, YMMV. My eyes suck. My NX6 1-6 also has very neutral glass color. Can’t wait to get this thing sighted in and in use. I am SO glad I skipped the NX8 1-8 in favor of trying this one out. It needs a locking diopter.

I LOVE the 1.5-12x so far though. I will say I’m being a bit dramatic. It’s still a premium optic. It’s not ‘bad’, but it’s easily my least favorite premium optic. It’s like Nightforce told their engineers they need to make a daylight bright micro 1-8, and nothing else. I do really need to snag a 1.5-12. I think it’ll outdo my 2-10 Credos in most every way, and I like my 2-10 Credos. |

Got some time behind this, the NX 6 and the AMG over the weekend. This at 8x was a little rough sighting in compared to to the other two. “Image. Stability” is a term I’ve heard used here and at 8x the image was struggling and so were my eyes after a few minutes sighting the optic in. It got better when I dialed down to 6x, but then I gave up 2x mag to get it sighted in. This is purely a riflerest experience in somewhat poor lighting and no outdoors range experience - that’s coming up. The NX 6 was razor sharp at full mag with a stable image. The AMG was slightly less performant at full mag than the NX6 but still an amazing optic. |

The AMG was slightly less performant at full mag than the NX6 but still an amazing optic. I haven't kept up with the Primary Arms line, but I bought the second focal plane PLX 1-8 in 2024. The issue you talk about was the same issue I experienced. It was OK on 1-6x with a nice red dot, but on 8x it was difficult to get behind as opposed to my FFP Trijicon VCOG 1-8x. 1-6x scopes shine in 30 mm tubes. 1-8x scopes I feel benefit from 34 mm tubes. S&B gets away with a 30 mm tube for their short dot dual (as does the 30 mm tube version of the Kahles 1-8x) because those two scopes are longer than the NXS 1-8x and the primary arms 1-8x scopes. |

I bought one during the Labor Day Sale and mounted it this evening. Like the OP just yard larping so far. I like it. FFP, I'm happy with the Griffin reticle. Illumination gets goofy when illuminating the entire reticle. There's a lot of bloom on the individual stadia dots and the illumination steps seem to large. Illumination is great with the horseshoe and chevron only. I hope to get to know it a bit better this weekend. |
