I don't know if any of you are familiar with the Arizona Regulator, but I have a 2 position model I want to use in a 9mm AR. It allows an AR to fire quickly on semi auto. I'm uncomfortable having a 90 degree throw from Safe to FRT, due to my muscle memory. What I'd like to do is take this KAK safety selector, which is simply Semi Auto at 90 degrees and 180, and fill in the 90 degree position so it can't stop there. In effect, I'll have a 2 position safety, 180 degrees apart. I expect it will involve JB Weld, or something similar. Has anybody done this? Yes, I know about the 3 position AZR. I have one already. Why do you feel “uncomfortable “? Why would you move the selector out of SAFE if you didn’t want it to go bang? Why would you choose a 2-position system if you wanted 3-position functionality? I’m not understanding your train of thought here… it sounds like “carry with an empty chamber” thinking  To answer your question directly, just get a SAFE-SEMI-SEMI selector and click it through 180 degrees. I doubt JB Weld would hold up… a blob of actual steel weld would be best followed by careful Dremel work. Lots of effort for something of dubious value. |
