Armanov Buffer, specifically. Does it work? Yes. It minimizes muzzle flip and drastically reduces the recoil impulses. Nothing comes close to this. I've tried kynshots, Unrivaled dead blows, JP SCS, that magnetic buffer that isnt mickulek none of them come remotely close.

"A band" is the $1000 band/strap around cash you get from a bank.  Half a band = $500.

I'd like to try one.

In 3gun we did everything we could to control this.

I was never impressed with the JP SCS.  I did use a light JP carrier, mixed with a kynshot, and this was VERY low recoil.  We be interesting to see how this stacks up.  I'd have a lot of heartache paying $500 tho.

Is that in $1 bills or something?  I got $5000 in hundreds yesterday and it wasn’t thick enough that I needed a “band”

Conceptually interesting, though in practice it doesn’t seem very practical (only fits rifle receiver extensions) and seems like it has a lot of potential failure points. I’d be more inclined to try a Surefire OBC.

Any review videos of it in action?

Seems expensive for something that doesn't have any reviews on quality/performance on the internet.

Bands just don't go as far as they used to. If using only half a band, well, you're not going to get much.

It's what special-needs children call $500. I think it achieved mainstream popularity as a result of developmentally disabled gambling streamers, but I could be wrong.

Apparently, they don't know that 'bands' can be for $500, $1000, $2000, $5000, $10000, etc. They've likely never actually gotten that much cash from the bank.

Ah, never mind. One is liable to lose brain cells with too much contemplation of moronic slang terms. As they say, if you gaze long into the abyss...

That’s tarded. You can get banded cash in any denomination.

“Half a band” could mean $50, $100, $250, $500, $1000, $2500, or $5000

Unfortunately some of the site upgrades have removed / moved the forum the post was made in. At least on my phone I don’t see it.

This is why we get GD responses in the tech forums.

The Op has my interest in how well this works out vs a keen shot hydrolic buffer both with and without added weights.

Subscribed.

It's pretty clever.  I think the one disadvantage as compared to a lightweight setup is that it'll require more gas to run than a lightweight carrier & a zero weight buffer.

How many rounds do you have on it, OP?  How often do you have to grease the gears?
8/26/2026 5:18:56 AM EDT
[#21]
Very interesting.   It looks like you can adjust the weight by adding or removing the beads, so maybe the gas won't be an issue.
OP, have you tried it with an FRT yet?

Its also likely who the OP is, he creates stupid posts that he knows will drum up conversation, never shows any proof that he actually owns any of these products, let alone shot with them, makes outrageous claims and then lets them fly.  He may not even come back to this thread.

Known troll, yet everyone here keeps feeding into his shit.

It's a troll thread from a blatant troll that purposefully trolls the tech forums. Post whatever you want as it no longer matters.

Sad thing is, I've reported threads like this before where someone is blatantly trolling.

I have yet to see any action taken.  I genuinely don't know if we have mods in this section anymore.  This forum has gone to shit.

So, OP here. Im too lazy to quote everyone so im just going to address what I can recall. Yes this thing is 8oz, its heavy and I had issue with a +2 rifle length barrel short stroking. I also have a 14.8 sotmfg that fed completely fine. No FRT, totally forgot as I was busy trying to get it working. How do we post photos from your hard drive so I can deboonk these haters of mine 🤪

Street cash gets every $1000 rubber banded. Band = $1000. Also, a rack is $1000, and also, a stack is $1000.

So if I got 10 racks, that's $10,000.

Now that's some technical discussion.

I’m not upset in the least, I was just genuinely confused as to wtf it meant, and then as someone else pointed out, all denominations come banded.

This is where the old man comes out of me.  I typically avoid advice from people that use ignorant or the latest trendy slang words when describing things.  I envision them as flat billed, white Oakley shade wearing, “bro” types for some reason.

Maybe I’m on the spectrum or perhaps my past experiences have taught me to avoid these types of people.

Did your +2" gas even work with a regular buffer?  When I built a 27" +3" gas, I had to run a lightweight carrier and pull all the weights out of the buffer to get it to run.  8 oz, counter-reciprocating or no, that's not likely to run w/ rifle +2" in 5.56.

Actually kind of interesting looking for certain things.

But yeah I was thinking your extended rifle gas system with .223 is already ragged edge of working at all basically
