Every time I try to remove my upper it's so tight. Shooting the pistol is fine and no problems at all. I have to drive rear taked down pin out with punch and a hammer. Today I was trying to figure out the problem. Turned a light on it and saw what I think the problem is. The carbine buffer tube is slightly protruding past the end of the receiver. Maybe a 32nd into the upper receiver part. Maybe not that much. It isn't wearing finish off the upper just makes it hard to fully close. What can I do to the carbine buffer to shorten it. It has a cut out for the pin to stick through and right in middle of that. Any ideas how to shorten the edge of buffer tube? Thought about a file but would be hard to keep it straight I think. Thanks for help. |

Not suggesting you do this since you ruled it out but this was common to do years back when tubes didn't have any lip at the bottom and they did not time right to cover enough of the retaining pin. First I would see if I backed the tube out one turn if the retainer still had good coverage by the bottom lip. |

I looked at it again today. I rotated the tube back 1 full thread. The pin stayed in and is held by enough metal it should be fine. I used the charging handle several times and it had no problem. I will get to the range one day and try it to make sure it functions. Thanks. |
