| Not saying this is the case but the VFW hall in the town I grew up in had a range in the basement. Like decades in use. They had a fire and the fire department blamed unburnt powder residue coating basically everything. This was before real ventilation and rules. Oddly, the PD station across the street also had a range in their basement and they haven’t burned down so what do I know. |

Yeah uncleaned ranges can burn easily due to powder residue, plus a lot of shredded paper blasted off of targets and backers. They need to be cleaned regularly. PD range also would be less likely to have someone shooting steel core ammo that might actually kick up a spark. Plus some ranges use shredded rubber in the bullet traps (actually a great backstop material) but this can burn well also. Not sure if BFV has any of those or not. Typically it is treated to not burn easily when it is new, but I don’t know how well that holds up over time. |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say BV's HVAC is 1,000,000,000x better than whatever the local VFW in PossumFuck Minnesota (or wherever) had built in. The good types where the you have a system that sucks the air downrange and is built in downrange instead of just system blowing it from behind you. The amount of unburnt powder would be exponentially smaller. Hell, many years ago I shot in a place where we had to wear a mask when shooting due to all the fudds using shit reloads that smoked more than a Cali wildfire. You could write your name in the powder and carbon on the walls. That place was a spark away from Hiroshima the Sequel. |

Very interested in the outcome. Battlefield Vegas is a treasure and these threads are a goldmine of invaluable information. Judging the unmitigated joy others have reported in threads here dealing with insurance claims they may have their hands full or valid reasons for not sharing while the process is ongoing. @HendersonDefense I hope everyone is doing well and you all are able to get things back in motion with BV Local business burned down in my area a couple of years ago, it was an older structure but concrete. The owner spent 18 months rebuilding but he made some modest updates and changes based on what he'd learned since opening in the 90's and it's working better than ever for him now that he's back in operation. |

I worked in a facility that shot up to 250K rounds per week. We had automated watering systems that washed down the firing ports 3x (or maybe more?) per day and were firing into water traps for targeting and sand traps for function. Prior to the installation of the automated watering system there'd be fires once a month. Literally any crack or gap in a wall will have gunpowder in it - it just gets everywhere. The FD still gives tours to all the new recruits so they know where everything is.  |
