My grandson gave me a gift of a hand tooled leather rifle sling with my name on it. I’ve been using it for hunting and it’s so slick I can’t keep it on my shoulder. Any suggestions on roughing it up or something I can add to the back to help. I obviously want to keep using it but I can’t as is .Attached File |

It's awesome you have a sling your grandson made you. I hope the suggestions worked. I appreciate them. I think I'm going to find them useful. Depending on your grandson's age and interests, he might find this issue and the solution to be a fun learning experience. The next traditional style sling I get, I'm leaning toward a thumb hole because for my whole hunting life, I've had issues with slings that like to slide when I'm in cold weather gear. I typically have hunted forests with enough undergrowth that my gun, when shouldered, is pushed around by small branches on the regular. Maybe I'll reconsider. Glad I wandered in here. |
