Hey all, I am sensitive to gas fumes to my eyes and don't want to be inhaling them for obvious reasons. I have a flow 5.56k on a zion-15 16" with a PRI gasbuster shooting IMI m193 ammo. It's still too much fumes to my face for me to enjoy shooting it for long periods, even outdoors. Possibly an ammo issue? I am wondering, now that my finances are good, should I look into a different system to host my 5.56k flow that would be more enjoyable for me to shoot? Possibly a piston operated setup? Also, would going to 14.5 or 11.5 significantly increase the gas blowback vs 16"? This is a range toy/SHTF rifle exclusively. Thanks |

I have them on 4 rifles and honestly don’t know how they only want $22.00 for them, they work and give you a stupid soft shooting rifle with negligible gas to face. The rest of your setup is good to go for gas mitigation, likely your IWI barrel has a gaping hole for a gas port. |

Yes you’ll want to go with a piston system that will have a significantly less gas blowback. But in terms of DI there are adjustable gas blocks and adjustable bcgs too. Also are you having health issues or just find the smell unpleasant? If it is the former I would go with piston but otherwise I think you best man up and breathe in the fumes!!!! |
