Compact, easy to transport, take up little space, fit in a back pack, etc. Yes, that's the attraction. I'm not knocking the buffer tube, the AR, etc at all, I mean, I went that direction, right? I did so specifically because of your recommendations and input coupled with the affordable (even more so on sale) CMMG RDB kit, and wanting to be able to use it and my 300 Blk upper on the same SBR lower. A compact bufferless is not the same firearm, would not compete against a buffered AR setup in competition. It's a completely different animal that could/would serve a different purpose. I do get it in that respect, and still wouldn't mind owning one. Do I have any real world purpose for owning one? No, not really, but that's true for a lot of the firearms I own already. I just like firearms of all types. I don't shoot competitively anymore (I used to shoot IPSC), so in terms of utilitarian needs, I have a carry pistol and a couple rifles and a shotgun that would serve for home defense. All else is just "because I want to." |
