I have built A LOT of rifles over the years, but they have all been entirely with one companies products. Because of that, my knowledge on the quality, durability, and dependability of other products and designs is basically zero. I am needing to complete a few rifles, and they obviously all need handguards. What I am wondering, is if the design pictured below, with the rear base of the rail being the point you secure, is .... hmmm, good? The other parts and pieces used on these builds are high quality, and I dont want to go the cheap ( it will work, but its not the best - but who cares, not like you are going to war with it) route. I've have good luck with these. They are my go-to "cheap" rail. Wedge lock with antirotation tabs. |

It is excellent in every way. Solidly mounted, light and strong. I have done everything with that gun....trained with it, lived with, killed with it, dragged it up & down mountains, run it from 5 to 500 yards. Those rails are probably the best bang for buck out there. Methinks they"re the OEM for similar types BKings and others offer. |

KAC URX 4 and URX 6 are both rock solid. URX 6 requires their upper receiver, sold separately, due to the alignment tab feature. URX 4 is kind of a pain to install but can use a standard receiver and might be easier to find. KAC has their 14.5" URX 4 available from their site. You'd have to email to ask for any other lengths. I can't open your link for some reason so this is assuming AR-15 and not SR-25 pattern. Rail deflection on KAC handguards is basically as good as you can get within margin of error. ETA: Other stuff linked here is perfectly fine. The more options, the higher the chance you'll find what you like. |
