| Just picked up a blem H&R 635 upper and it's great however the dust cover won't remain closed on a closed or open bolt. It flops open as mag is inserted, the detent protrudes as it should and works fine without a mag inserted. On an odd number of rounds in magazine is doesn't retain hardly at all, never had this issue with any Ar centerfire or pcc. Out of spec? |

I had this problem before, and the spring on the dust cover was installed incorrectly. Mine was a 556 upper. Grab another upper that works properly and closely compare the install of the spring. Attached File |

I truly believe it's the bcg I tried a different bcg and it ran as expected. Different lower and original bcg the issue still remained with a closed bolt and an even number of rounds in the magazine the dustcover won't stay closed and a couple failure to feed using metalform/colt mags out of approximately 200rnds of factory 115 fmj. |

The assembly that holds the detent sits too far forward and isn't held in that well. I just cut down a spare full length dustcover and it works much better |
