| Hi, I have a sig surg upper with the A latch and its on a AR lower with the giessele MCX trigger. After firing two to three shots, the hammer does not reset and I can't press down on the trigger or adjust the safety, however, there is a new round in the chamber. How do I resolve it? I have to rack the charging handle again to fire the next round. |

From what I understand is that you are able to shoot a couple of rounds, then you have a dead trigger that cannot be pressed and nothing happens and you cannot put the safety selector back into the safe mode. If this is what is happening, then it sounds like you are having issues with the hammer resetting. What I mean is that after you fire the couple of rounds and you now had a dead trigger and the safety cannot be rotated out of the fire mode into the safe mode, this would most likely be that the hammer is forward in the fire position. In order for the safety selector to be in the safe mode, the hammer has to be cocked. So if the safety is in the fire mode after the firing, and you now have a dead trigger then the hammer is forward, and again why the safety cannot be rotated out of the fire mode into the safe mode. My recommendation is to make sure you have the trigger group assembled correctly. Specifically that the disconnector spring is correctly installed in the trigger (there is a hole that the spring should be in), and the disconnector spring should be installed so that the wide end of the disconnector spring is down in the trigger first with the wide end up. If the disconnector spring is not installed correctly, then the disconnector is not reliably catching the hammer as the action cycles rearward to recock, and then the hammer goes back forward as the bolt carrier assembly goes forward to feed a new round into the chamber and then lock the bolt lugs into battery. I would also suggest you remove the trigger group and clean out the receiver area where the trigger system is, making sure there is nothing floating round under the trigger like a blown primer.
