I purchased a Geissele Super Duty MOD1 10.3” upper brand new and I can’t get it to feed properly. I fire 2 or 3 or maby even 4 rounds and then I pull the trigger on an empty chamber. I manually cycle the BCG, rack in a fresh round and go back to firing 2,3 or 4 rounds perfectly before I pull the trigger only to realize the chamber is empty again. I’ve tried different magazines and different ammo with the same results. Any suggestions? |

So will need to run their spring and buffer to get the rig to run correctly. https://geissele.com/super-42-braided-wire-buffer-spring-and-buffer-combo-h1.html Also, since the Super 42 spring is 15% stronger in tension and they are running heaver buffer as well, your stroke stroking problem may that the bolt is unlocking too soon (over function), with too much residual bore pressure on the spent case to be extracted cleanly that is causing the problem, and not the other way around with not enough gas pressure to the B/C instead. You don't list spring or buffer in play, but guess standard carbine spring, and standard carbine buffer in play now. To take is step father and that there super42 and buffer is on back order, and the short barrel is going to very ammo sensitive anyways, I would attack the problem adding in an gas adjustable carrier key, run a H1 buffer, and use the Wolff extra tension carbine recoil spring. The gas key wide open and the above should have the rig running cleaning (bolt unlocking at the correct time), and if going to run Mk262 ammo that will send more pressure down the gas key, can put the adjustable carrier key in play to reduce the amount of gas to the carrier. ____________________________ Or, all of the about could be moot, if you are using the mag as by-pod, or mag is not feeding correctly, or mag not retained in the mag well correctly; with the mag just tilting front end up/back end down in the mag well, that is allowing the bolt to over run over the rim of the top round in the mag to cause the problem. Hence if bolt is locking back on last round fired out of mag, and the bolt catch is on the front of the bolt, not just catching the bottom of the carrier on the last round fired out of the mag, then problem is mag/ how is locking into the well, and that needs to be addressed instead (would need to know what mags, and quick check of how they are locking into mag well (how low the lips of mag are below the bottom of locked home carrier). To add, do a charging handle full pull, make sure that front face of bolt stops 1/8"~1/4" in front of ejection port window, and last half of charging handle pull is the same tension as the middle of pull. Hence receiver extension is the correct void depth (not airsoft short depth tube, and buffer and recoil spring is correct lengths for a real tube depth in play to start with. Hence fake air soft receiver extension, or rifle spring in carbine tube is going to cause the bolt to not be able to come back far enough in the first place, and mag not recovering fast enough, will not allow the bolt to have a chance at a clean strip of the round out of the mag as the bolt is moving back forwards. |

Email us at [email protected] and we can troubleshoot the system together. Getting more information on the lower, buffer/buffer spring, and possible suppressors/muzzle devices, and ammunition you are using will be helpful in determining the problem. Our rifles and pistols are gassed and set up to run full-power 5.56 NATO, sometimes we see this problem occur when users are using underpowered .223, but gas balancing help work through this. |
