My HD blackout PDW has not changed much at all with an exception to the addition of some forward controls parts and rattle can. It’s the only one that’s stayed pretty much the same. I have too many 5.56 builds to mix and match. They change all the time. |

I put this together with my son in late 2022. It's changed slightly since first being assembled, but it's mostly original. For me, 12.5" is the most versatile, do-most length for 5.56. It is setup to be my "can only take one" gun. -LMT receivers -Criterion Core barrel -Centurion sand-cutter carrier -LMT Enhanced bolt -Sprinco Blue spring -H3 buffer -Geissele SSP trigger

My pics won't post until I have 50 posts unless someone approves them. I've had this LE6933 since '09. It is by far my favorite and my go to. It's gone through many changes over the years, but I recently took it all apart and stripped the camo job off, had the anodizing redone, and had the other parts refinished black. It's a little old school and a little new school now.

This is where mine is at currently. Some changes have definitely been made from the original configuration. I added an optic and light as soon as I could afford them (I did lend it the Inforce from my FAL until I got one specifically for it). I messed around with the QD swivel cup placement on the handguard a few times (one is for tactical use, one for using the sling as a shooting aid), and then messed around with other stuff to try to fix a persistent feeding issue (which seems to be the result of the original lower being out of spec). I got it to where it would function with mags that had an anti-tilt follower, but not ones without them. Most recently I changed the lower and some other parts on the lower, and also changed the charging handle. The only change I may make in the next few years is adding an RMR to the ACOG when I can afford it. If I get into NV in the future or get a residence in a suppressor-friendly State, more changes or accessories may come. Geissele, LMT, Forward Control Designs, Aero Precision, and Daniel Defense account for the major parts and many of the other parts. I also have components from Battle Arms Development, Brownell's, Colt, Compass Lake Engineering, Magpul, LWRCI, ALG, Arson Machine, and Arisaka Defense on there. TA33 is on a Midwest Industries mount. Light is a Surefire head and tailcap on an Arisaka body and mount. Modlite remote switch. Sling is BFG VCAS. Concept is a lightweight general-purpose fighting carbine. It draws inspiration from the Cola Warrior Armalite Rifle (CWAR) and nearly meets CWAR spec as-is. I also wanted it to be reasonably accurate, have irons suitable for use as the primary sights out to mid-ranges if necessary, have a good trigger, be able to use a sling as a shooting aid and accommodate different tactical sling types and configurations, be able to mount a suppressor, and also be able to use a bayonet and rifle grenades. I also wanted it to be ambidextrous, or at least quasi-ambidextrous. Finally, I wanted certain components to be known for durability or suitability for hard use. This is the result. It is my first AR build. Finished the initial version in 2020 just as the COVID panic started to hit. Unfortunately, no one makes a standalone pinnable bayonet lug, only the clamp-on stuff, unless you count 3D-printed; I think someone makes a 3D-printed lug somewhere meant for use on the Mini-14.

That is a first class post. Thanks! I had meant to say how much it weighs in my post. With optic, empty 30-rnd mag, light and light accessories, sling, and swivels attached it weighs 7lbs 13.7oz. Stripped down to mag and accessories it is 6lbs. 4.3oz. Lighter than an M-16A2 that has a mag and sling attached but with the benefit of an optic and light. I think the base weight is lighter than even a 604 M-16, as well. |

Just got back from the range with it all. Attached File Colt SBRd lower with ALG Combat trigger, going to replace with a LaRue MBT when I get around to it. first ar I assembled. still would be the one I grab. nothing exotic, nothing spendy. it just goes bang every time and shoots better than I do. I keep buying the stuff I want after buying the stuff I think I want, and the most current goes on this rifle. streamlight rm-2 SIG MSR 1-6 most of the rest of Anderson. obviously I like Magpul. MBUIS Pro and SL furniture with SL-K stock. MIAD grip with lube bottle. 3 point sling. don't like getting kicked in the nuts when I need to move and it's a 2 point or single point sling. those are in a box in the basement.  same 16" with the 10.5" 300blk takedown that goes to work with me. earlier pic so the 16" doesn't have the 1-6 on it yet. streamlight rm-1 Holosun 510 Anderson upper and lower I think the barrel is a Ballistic advantage Midwest blast can Pantheon Arms Dolos with their handguard. FAB Defense folding grip soon to be swapped out for an almost identical looking 6.8 spc pistol. need to build up more ammo and magazines on hand.  Pantheon Arms Dolos takedown kit - this goes in the bottom 5" of my work backpack with 3 more mags.  |
