What is the ATFs look on this? I searched and found a thread from 2017 talking about it but nothing since they have been changing their views back and forth on everything. I saw their wording was 90* and the BCM gets a pass for being 89* but just wanted to be sure i was okay to throw one on my new BLK pistol build. |

Their "vertical foregrip" is at 89* to bypass the 90* literature in the ATF's ruling. Now.... if that still holds true i have no idea. Read about this years ago before i got into the pistol game. Now that im here.... im looking for something that still qualifies as a pistol without having to go the SBR route. *EDIT* Just noticed this was my 10,000th post. Lets celebrate gents. If it makes 26" OAL w/ the buffer tube, you can add a VFG w/o a stamp per ATF this week. |

Not unless it's permanently attached via an ATF approved method - ie, 1000 degree silver solder or pin & weld. |

I guess i'll have to measure when i get home from work. thank you for all the info! IIRC, you need an 11.5" bbl to make 26" w/ a standard buffer tube. You can always throw a rifle tube on it & sling that over your shoulder. My 1st AR was a 16" HB w/ a rifle tube as an AR pistol. |
