Came across this on Reddit, as a FRT (Rare Breed, DTT) build list for .22lr. Has anyone tried this, or similar setup for the DTT FRT in specific? https://imgur.com/gallery/T392dKF

I have almost the identical 16in setup, except my bolt/carrier is BB. Only thing I do not have is the tungsten weights in my bolt weight (because they are out of stock and have been for months). It will not run with any FRT. Semi it runs fine, forced reset I get one shot and a dead trigger. |

I'm sure you know this already, but assuming you have an unfired round in your chamber after the stoppage, then your problem is almost certainly bolt bounce. Hopefully when the tungsten weights become available again that will cure your issue. Make sure you are also using some type of plug in front of your buffer, assuming you are using a buffered lower since this is purported to help avoid bolt bounce also. My .22 Banshee upper ( 7") works great with RareBreed FRT15L3, Borebuddy weight with tungsten inserts, plug, adjustable trip, etc. BTW, where are you in Alabama? I'm in Birmingham. |

I had good luck with an oroginal RB FRT. It ran beat with all tungsten weights. But after 3000+ rounds I gave it up having only got around 5 full mag dumps. All the rest had at least one issue. I'm pretty much there with a new SS build. Lots of Bore Buddy parts. Yes, fire one round then a dead trigger with a live round in the chamber with a light strike. I have the bore buddy pressure plug in front of the buffer. I have tried a RB/DTT FRT15L3 with the BB adjustable trip, and tried adjusting it both forward and back with no help. I tried a AZ regulator 2 position with no luck. Tried the 3 position AZ regulator with no luck. Tried super safety shop super safety and trip sled with no luck. Currently have a GMR SS with their printed lever and trip sled, still with no luck. Tried removing the bolt buffer with no change. I just tried a fostech extra power recoil spring with almost no change. I did get a couple of 3-4 round bursts but that was it. I'm not far north of you in cullman. |

I'm not far north of you in cullman. I presume you haven't been able to get the tungsten weights yet from Borebuddy. That's about the only thing I can think of that might help. I have mine configured with the heaviest weight combination from BB I could get, and it works fine. I was getting stoppages from bolt bounce prior to installing the heavier weights. Have you tried contacting BoreBuddy for advice? |
