512 Revision F When I fire the sight reticle goes dim or flickers. No other problems. Battery life is very good. |

512 Rev F - No problems
512 Rev F - Had a problem with the rubber gromlets in the battery cover, eotech sent out updated parts for both sights 511 Rev E - No problems 551 Rev F - No problems I have always used Energizers, but recently switched to Eneloops (in the 512s) and so far they haven't shown any signs of discharging from storage. |

| 552 Rev F purchased new December 07. No issues....... Lthium batteries were installed a few months after purchase. Not because the original batteries died, but because of possible alkaline battery leakage. The lithium batteries were replaced for the first time Dec 2010. The rifle the 552 was mounted on was only used about one weekend a month. |

Had a 511.A65 rev F, just range use, no problems. Bought it used ( a few months old as it had date of manufacture on box ) a few years ago. I sold it after I decided I don't care for the reticle
Decided to give Eotechs one more try and bought the XPS last Spring and have used it on a .450 Bushmaster. Again, just range use so far, but no problems either. Note to add; I wish I would have bought the one with just a dot rather than the circle and dot since I realized why I sold the first one ( still dislike the circle and dot reticle ). |

516.A65 New Revision.....NO PROBLEMO. so far aprox. 4800 rounds mounted .Was used for 2 years with original batteries and did some time on a Beowulf .50 (2-300 rnds) without a hitch.
Note.. I used the recommended batteries and never dropped it from more than 2 ft high or submerged it in deep water for any length of time |

EOTech 551.A65
Bought it from the original owner (partner at work) in 2008. He bought it new in early 2007. Ran great until early 2010 when it began experiencing issues with the battery (n style) draining after only a few hours of use. I would leave it on accidentally in the vehicle and it would be dead by the end of my shift. Called EOTech, who said that it was likely an issue with the electronics and that they could fix it for about $70 and have it back to me in "a few weeks". So I traded it off and bought an Aimpoint. |

I thought I already posted in this thread, guess not.
Had a 512 rev F back in 07-08ish. Often found the batteries dead, even when not used. Had one of the battery box contacts fail. Eotech does have great customer service. |
LMT is a company with lousy QC. Buy from a company that cares about its products, like Bravo Company or LaRue.

I am considering picking up an H-1 though, just for weight savings and batteries. I have yet to decide. |

bought new fro cals 1.wouldnt zero ––sent back ––they glued something inside 2. became dim and wouldnt get bright enuf for daylight use / battery compartment springs/washers dislodged sent back dimness fixed and dogbone washer installed 3. dimness issue returned and it is going back. ETD also it is developing the circular area where the reticle disappears in the window like somebody recently posted about with video. that said thier customer service is good , in and out of warranty they stand by thier product ––-I just wish it would work!

Not sure which revision, it was in 2000/2001 time frame, I got rid of the unit as it was not functional for a police patrol optic. Eotech 552- The unit died on a call with an armed kidnapper towards me. This was not a battery issue, the unit simply refused to turn o. This was a Revision F model. I called Eotech and they had a new model to me the next morning. Eotech 552- Replacement model for the above failed optic. This model continues to work without trouble, though I no longer use an Eotech as a police patrol optic. Eotech 552- Revision C model works without any trouble, this sees moderate use at times on various training carbines and is also loaned out. |

I've had FOUR.
Three N cell models, all bought at the same time, ALL of which would drain batteries in the safe in less than a month. They had to be stored without batteries. One AA model, that I thought was good. I eventually sold it to a friend. We flew to Gunsite with it last year and it lost zero before the class was over. Not me, but one of my training buddies bought one of the new DL123 battery models. It was zeroed at my home range, and lost zero somewhere on the five hour drive to an EAG class last summer. (By way of camparison, I have a Aimpoint M4 on my primary rifle that I haven't had to adjust zero with in over two years in spite of being toted all over the country. You can draw your own conclusions about my opinion of EOTech's.) The N cell units were purchased in 2006, and night vision capable, although I don't remember the model number. The AA unit was bought in 2009. |

I have a 511 don't know the Rev. I bought it used from an arfcommer 3years ago and it was old then. It has poor battery life and shuts off randomly including during firing(cost a 3-gun match).
I have an XPS-0 that I bought new 6mnths ago and it has been perfect in everyway. I am thinking about sending the 511 in for reconditioning if eotech will do that. Jay |

EOTECH 552(I am guessing I never cared about the model number just that it was NV capable) Bought 2003 used x 4 deployments. I was out almost everyday I was deployed. Never had an issue with the sight. I have also used it on my personal carbine for the last year or so. Round Count unknown but alot.
EOTECH (same version as above but used CR123 Batteries.) Back up carried in Ruck for ACOG mounted upper. No issues fired very little. EOTECH 556.A65 Used on Range for about a year. Issue with sight turning off during long strings. went back to my 552. |

-Manufactured in 2005 -Supplied batteries leaked. Batteries drained fast. The third time I used it the unit lost power during recoil. Tried swapping batteries and battery compartments, but still couldn't get it to power back up. Destroyed it with a sledge hammer later that day. |

I had a 512 that I got used off the EE, used good quality AA batteries and never had any issue at all. I shoot in any weather and in snow and I never had it fail. Traded it because I wanted to see what Aimpoint had to offer. I now have an XPS 2-0 that I got off the EE LNIB that I love and has never given me any issues. Came back to it because I prefer the reticle |

One trip to the range, it turned itself off everytime I took a shot. Call EOTECH. They said that it was because of using alkaline batteries in cold weather ( around 32 degrees that day). I switched to lithium batteries & that problem didn't repeat itself. Later, on several occasions, the sight would not turn even with fresh batteries. I was told that I may have changed batteries with the sight turned on & it went into a safe mode for a set number of minutes. I can't remember if that is what they called it or the exact number of minutes (several years ago). However, I explained that the last time, I waited several hours & still no go. If I took the batteries back out & put the same batteries back in, it would work. After reading up of the various forums & seeing similar problems, I was done with the EOTECH's. |

512 AA battery type 512-A-65 Plastic top cover/rubber seals on open end get a white powder that grows on them. It resembles aluminum corrosion. But there is no corrosion of the plastic or metal, just a white hard powdery crud. Alcohol cleans it off. No damage to rubber or plastic or sight. Can't say this is a problem, but confusing. Alkaline batteries rotated each year. Not used much. Batteries not dead. Batteries not leaking. I've started to put gun grease on the open end rim and bottom plastic where it slides up against the rubber seal and bottom of case. Any info on this would be appreciated. |
