Sorry for the long post, but Iām going nuts here. Two guns that both ran FRTS fine, now both FRT in semi. Gun 1 is a 14.5ā nitride with mid length gas. PSA upper, lower, and NIB bolt and carrier. KAK tungsten H3 buffer, carbine spring. Gun 2 is a 11.5ā chrome lined upper with carbine gas from B. King Firearms, Aero lower, PSA black bolt and carrier, OBE H3 buffer, carbine spring. Both guns ran fine with 3 position FRTs from Partisan, Rare Breed, and Arizona Regulator. I started messing with them when I read about problems with the Disruptor and steel cased ammo. Partisan ended up sending a new Disruptor. (They are awesome as is @HelpfulGuerila.) My new Disruptor would FRT in semi. I started swapping buffers, uppers, etc. to see what was causing the problem. At the range both guns now FRT in semi, no matter which parts I swapped. The PSA lower has the Rare Breed in it, the Aero lower has the Disruptor in it. The Rare Breed has maybe 300 rounds fired, the Disruptor is new, less than 200 fired. Ammo was commercial reloads and Wolf Gold. I assume Iāve got some kind of tolerance stacking going on. I will tear into both guns in the next few days but I am stumped at this point. I plan to put the AZR-15 in one of the lowers and try both uppers. Could an upper cause a gun to FRT in semi mode??!! ![]() Suggestions welcome. After talking to @Gorton87 and @HelpfulGuerilla, I got a new safety lever from each that have a deeper cut for the disconnector. Took two guns, one with the Rare Breed and one with the Disruptor to the range with the new safety levers. Ran 60 rounds through each gun with no issues at all. Both triggers performed as expected in Semi and in FRT mode. |

I had that issue with the DTT FRT15L3s that Rarebreed sold when they first started selling triggers again. The problem was the disconnect. They worked for a few hundred rounds, then started firing like a binary or FRT in position 2. In my case, the way the disconnect was cut, the back wouldn't go high enough without hitting the selector in position 2. It worked until it had a little wear on it. I solved it by either filing the notch for position 2 deeper in the selector or filing the top back of the disconnect. I had more than one trigger with the issue, so I tried both approaches. It was a little easier to file down the top back of the disconnect. My issue was trigger specific, so you may have something else going on. My triggers had the same issue in multiple firearms, but a different trigger would solve the problem. |

My Partisan was one of the 1st batch and I found the safety selector would move on it's own from semi to frt mode. The member HelpfulGuerilla sent me a replacement selector drum & hammer spring. I installed the drum but not the hammer spring and fired a couple mags with. It seems to have corrected that problem but I haven't put a ton of rounds through it. My current favorite FRT is my ambi- Atrius Super Selector w/ H3 buffer. I have it in a PSA lower / Bushmaster 11.5 upper. It seems to be the most trouble free. I only shoot brass cased ammo. More expensive but less fouling. |

UPDATE: Thanks to @jwlaxton I have an update. I have gorton87 safety levers in the DTT/Rare Breed and the Disruptor. After reading jwlaxtonās post I decided to measure the depth of safety lever pocket for the semi position. Gorton87 lever: 0.113ā Disruptor lever: 0.148ā DTT/Rare Breed: 0.153ā After I noticed the large difference, I put the Disruptor lever in the gun with the Rare Breed pack in it. Everything else is the same in this 11.5ā gun that was shooting FRT mode when the safety was in the semi position the last time I shot it. I ran two mags through the gun, swapping between semi and FRT mode several times. In semi, the gun shot semiauto just fine, and in FRT mode it rocked like it is supposed to. I came home and cut the pocket in one of my Gorton87 safeties to 0.148ā. I will try the modified lever in the RB pack, and I will install the Disruptor in my other gun with a deeper cut lever and see what happens. I was a little surprised that the depth of the semi cut and the FRT cut on the Gorton87 levers was only a few centimeters different. But it ran fine for a few hundred rounds. |

Can you let me know when you placed your order? Obviously if anyone has any issues we would get you taken care of asap. https://datummachine.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/IMG_9876.webp @gorton87 Any chance you can post the depth and width of the cut in the replacement part? Thank you sir. |

So whats this all mean for current owners of disruptors and owners of the Datum selectors? I know multiple people who have these combinations based on my recommendations. Will they start to experience FRT in semi as well? Can the current levers be corrected? I am not sure if too much has been taken off or too little? |

Ā I am not sure if too much has been taken off or too little? Was corrected pretty early on so the chances of you having one are low and most donāt even exhibit the issue. I still use one in a rifle with thousands of rounds. |

I got my Disruptor 6/9. Itās got the XP spring, but has the original safety lever as shown on the left above. |
