I purchased a stainless centurion arms recce 16” barrel on Black Friday. I assumed since it did not include a gas block, it would not be dimpled or would only have one. It has two. I measured the dimple spacing at .040”. This matches the screw spacing listed for their gas block. I purchased the new griffin adjustable gas block at the same time. It has a .046” screw spacing. How should I proceed? 1. Tighten up and forget about it. 2. Buy a dimpling jig with a .046” spacing and use it. This will result in oblong hole but the screw should bottom out better. 3. I could install the one screw under gas port and take to a gunsmith to have him drill the barrel for pinning the block. I would rather not do this due to the expense and delay. 4. Something else I am not thinking of?? Thanks in advance for your help. I have put together a few rifles but still run into things like this sporadically that I am unsure of. |
